Parkrun 2021: End of year report

It has been another short parkrun year. Here’s my family’s annual report of achievements. I think it’s an achievement in itself that my family often includes the youngest person (my nephew) and the oldest person (my dad) at our home parkrun. It was announced in March that parkrun would return on 5th June. Then it was announced on 21st May that it was delayed again, as not enough landowners had given permission for it...

More Parkrun triumphs

My family is still enjoying Parkrun and the triumphs keep on coming, although less frequently than when we first started out (well, apart from recently where they suddenly started coming very frequently again!). On 6th August 2016, my mum and dad did their first Parkrun! They didn’t run it, they walked, but I was so proud of them for taking part. New Parkrun PB – at last!

I’m pretty consistent when it comes to my Parkruns. My PB for nearly a year has been 23:23 and I always finish within 20 seconds of that. And every week I try to beat it. Parkrun triumphs 2016

Following our earlier post on Parkrun triumphs, here’s another round-up of my family’s Parkrun achievements. On 12th March, my husband told me he was going to beat my PB. This must have been like red rag to a bull because somehow I found it in me to beat the PB I’d held for five months by a whole 44 seconds, achieving a time of 23:34. I was 79th runner out of 379 and the eighth woman across the line. I beat my...

Parkrun: Running against the men

In recent weeks, a bit of healthy competition at Parkrun has developed between my husband, my daughter’s best friend’s uncle (random I know – we met him through Parkrun and my daughter’s best friend) and me. When my husband started running Parkrun last summer, his PB was just over 27 minutes, whereas my first PB was 25 minutes. I soon got my time to under 25 minutes and it stayed at 24 minutes something for...
