Project 365 2017 Week 13

We’re now a quarter of the way through the year! We’re getting to the point where it becomes more difficult for me to do the maths and work out what number day we’re on.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 85 – Sunday 26th March – Happy Mother’s Day! This is my card from my daughter, which I absolutely love. But does anyone else think Mother’s Day is a bit overrated? I spent the whole day staring at mess waiting for my kids to help me out and in the end it seemed easier to sort stuff out myself.

Day 86 – Monday 27th March – my son finally made it back to school after a week off ill. He survived the day, despite two hours of sport (his school is the total opposite of my daughter’s), but he fell asleep on the floor for nearly two hours in the evening. If we hadn’t woken him for Scouts, I’m not sure he would have woken until morning. My daughter has some Heelys to review, so we took them out to put them through their paces.

Day 87 – Tuesday 28th March – a very changeable day of weather and not a lot of work to do! Our magnolia tree in the garden is looking amazing and it’s probably not quite at its best yet.

Day 88 – Wednesday 29th March – I have very little work on this week and very little motivation to do the bit I do have. I’ve been sorting out little things on my blog that I’ve been meaning to sort for a long time. With over 2000 posts, I could probably spend my entire life sorting little things, but I won’t! The only thing worth photographing was more blossom, this one is from a very small tree on our front garden.

Day 89 – Thursday 30th March – we had my younger son’s parents evening, which was amazing! I’m a very proud mum. I also went out for a meal with some of the local Gloucestershire bloggers, including Joy from Pink Oddy and Emma from Emmaand3. Apologies for the terrible photo of my burger, the lighting in the restaurant was awful!

Day 90 – Friday 31st March – my husband was feeling under the weather, so worked at home. And this is another photo of my magnolia tree, just because the blossom isn’t going to last much longer!

Day 91 – Saturday 1st April – today’s Parkrun position and I got my third PB in as many weeks! I finished in 23 minutes exactly, coming first in my age category and sixth woman overall. My daughter ran with her friends again and ran two minutes faster than last week. Later on, we’re off to meet her best fried from panto.

  2. Well done on the PBs. Great blossom photo. I keep driving past magnolia trees and thinking I must stop and take some photos.

    • Thanks very much! I don’t know what’s going on with me and all the PBs at the moment! You’ll have to get in quick with the magnolia trees – I think a lot of them have turned a corner now!

  3. Yes Mother’s Day is overrated. So overrated!! I’m over it now though. As you can tell ;). I love all the pics of the blooms, reminds me of my blossom tree that we had chopped down!

    • Ha ha, I can tell you’re totally over it! I’m thinking of cancelling all celebrations next year to avoid disappointment! So sad to chop a blossom tree down! I have the one massive one and one tiny one 🙂

  4. Oh wow, well done with park run, what an amazing time! And I totally agree with you about flipping mother’s day – it’s mother’s day in name only. I got up, made a cup of tea, let the dogs out, worked for an hour and a half while my husband snored and the children watched television and then I cooked breakfast for everyone and refrained from complaining about the fact my husband hadn’t put the garage flowers he’d bought me into water overnight so they were looking worse for wear by the time I got them. The fact it was mother’s day just made me cross and made me realise that nobody had any intention to lift a finger on any day of the year!

    • Exactly that! It just makes me cross 🙁 My husband kept saying the kids had to do things, but he wasn’t saying it to them! And he wasn’t helping them. Very frustrating. x

  5. I think I gave up on the day number before the first month was even up! All those beautiful Spring flowers look great. #365

    • Ha ha, I do love to keep track of the numbers, but I struggle a bit as the year wears on! I thought I might as well take lots of pics of the flowers now before they all disappear – they don’t hang around for long!

  6. I was just thinking the other day that I needed to go out and take some blossom shots. Hope your daughter had fun with the Heelys.

    • Be quick with the blossom photos! It’s so fleeting! I think it’s literally at its best for about three days. She’s loving the Heelys so far, thanks 🙂

  8. Well done on the PB and great for your daughter getting out and running with her friends. I detest my chips being served in a bucket.
Shame Spring blossoms bring hayfever, but they are pretty to look at.

    • Ha ha, I hadn’t thought about the chips in the bucket! That seems to happen everywhere these days! I’m so pleased to see my daughter running again 🙂

  12. I know what you mean about waiting for promised help and just getting on with it yourself. I didn’t realise heels were back in vogue/fashion again, my son broke his arm on heels, but he was being towed by a golf cart at the time
