Project 366 Week 35

The kids aren’t back at school yet, but it feels like we’re almost back to routine this week anyway. They’ve been out and about a lot more, I’ve been giving a lot more lifts and have had a lot more work on.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 241 – Sunday 28th August – my eldest did a 10k cross country/ hill run. I was a bit worried about him as he hadn’t trained, but he did very well. 10k, Running, Son, 365, 366 Day 242 – Monday 29th August – we were all shocked and upset when our guinea pig, Daisy, died unexpectedly last night. This morning we’re all focused on Eric and making sure he is happy and healthy. Eric, Guinea pig, Pet, 365, 366 Day 243 – Tuesday 30th August – I had the ‘pleasure’ of school shoe shopping today. I ended up with only one pair of shoes, which came from the men’s department. And it wasn’t even for my 15 year old. Sigh. School shoes, Shoes, 365, 366 Day 244 – Wednesday 31st August – my running totals for August make very positive reading. I ran 82 miles during the month, approximately 50% more than an average month, recorded my first 10 mile runs in two years and took my mileage for 2016 up to 470. Running, Distance, 365, 366 Day 245 – Thursday 1st September – my busiest day of work for a long time. Apart from dropping my younger son off in town, I didn’t leave the house until late afternoon, when I managed to snap this busy bee. Bee, Flower, Garden, 365, 366 Day 246 – Friday 2nd September – a manic morning involving me running, my eldest going on a long hike, my younger son going to school for rugby training (even though school isn’t back yet) and my daughter going to her tutor. Work also started on replacing our horrible downstairs toilet. Toilet, Bathroom, Refurbishment, 365, 366 Day 247 – Saturday 3rd September – a bit of a blurry photo, as it was taken on the move. This is my daughter doing Parkrun with her best friend. I love it when we run with her friend as she has so much enthusiasm and chats all the way round. Daughter, Friend, Parkrun, 365, 366 Project 366 is a bloghop. Hop over to see what others have been up to this week. TheBoyandMe's 366 Linky

  2. awwwww i mentioned this just now in your last post, but I am so sorry about Daisy guinea pig (hugs). it is always sad when a much loved pet passes away. i love the fact that your daughters friend joins her on a park run, she must be a good friend. we have just had our horrible bathroom renovated, so i understand how much you will loom forward to your toilet being done xx

    • She’s a really good friend! It was my daughter’s friend that got us into Parkrun in the first place. We still have to get our horrible ensuite renovated too. Maybe that will be next year! x

  3. Very much out of the routine still here – it will be a bit of a shock I think. Hope Eric is doing well without his friend. I’d love to do our downstairs toilet too, but the upstairs bathroom is in a worse state.

    • We did our upstairs bathroom when we moved in. I’d rather do our ensuite, but we couldn’t afford it and the downstairs toilet was totally out of action, so it made sense to get it done!

  5. No routine here yet either, although all set for school tomorrow. Your whole family are so fit – doing all that running. Although i does seem that running often runs in families.
