Project 366 Weeks 32 & 33

We’ve just got back from our annual holiday to Padstow in Cornwall, so it’s been a pretty good couple of weeks.

Here’s our fortnight in pictures…

Day 220 – Sunday 7th August – we went to Wembley for the Community Shield. My dad and I are Leicester fans and my husband and kids are Man Utd fans, so it was the perfect game for us!

Day 221 – Monday 8th August – it’s so nice to have my son back home with us after Scout camp last week. We went to see Finding Dory, which was lovely. But the only photo I got was in the garden!

Day 222 – Tuesday 9th August – my younger kids weren’t keen on going to meet mummy’s friends today, but my daughter was VERY happy with this inflatable and there were good Pokemon for my son to track down!

Day 223 – Wednesday 10th August – I took the kids to town for a Pokemon Go catching session, because you can catch a lot more in town than at home. I tried several times to get photos, but they were just too fast for me! So here’s the garden again (sorry!)…

Day 224 – Thursday 11th August – we’re off to Padstow early tomorrow morning, so packing is in full swing.

Day 225 – Friday 12th August – we arrived in Padstow, for the start of our annual holiday! It’s our 16th consecutive year here and we never tire of it (well, apart from my eldest, who tired of it several years ago… )

Day 226 – Saturday 13th August – we walked the South West Coast Path. It was a beautiful walk and the predicted dull weather turned hot and sunny. Having walked a really long way along it last year, my daughter and I decided to bail out and get a taxi after seven miles, leaving the menfolk to walk another five or six miles.

Day 227 – Sunday 14th August – we had a very quiet day, which actually involved a lot of time spent with my son hunting for Pokemon Go. He also found some time to skim stones on the beach – his absolute favourite thing to do on holiday!

Day 228 – Monday 15th August – a very warm, sunny day, which we spent on the beach. So far the weather on this holiday has been better than it has been in years!

Day 229 – Tuesday 16th August – another hot, sunny day at the beach. My daughter took this photo of me.

Day 230 – Wednesday 17th August – the day started with a bit of Pokemon Go hunting with my son, when I took this classic photo of Padstow harbour.

Day 231 – Thursday 18th August – my husband and the kids went go-karting and I went to watch.

Day 232 – Friday 19th August – time to leave Padstow! We shouldn’t have waited until 9 to set off because it took us six whole hours to get home. This was our view for most of the journey.

Day 233 – Saturday 20th August – after our weekly Parkrun, today is all about the washing! This is load number five since we got home. I’m not sure I’ll even manage to do load number six today as it’s raining and I’ve run out of drying space.

  1. Oh wow, 16 consecutive years. That’s a very very long time. It does look so beautiful though and I can see why you keep going back. I wonder if Scotland will become that for us!

    • It is a long time, isn’t it? I guess it’s a similar distance from us to Scotland is from you!

  2. Going back to the same place is the sort of thing I do.
Glad they managed to add to the holiday with pokemon hunting.
Love your harbour picture, would make into a nice jigsaw puzzle.
Hate hate hate being stuck in traffic jams and would hate it even more with kids in the car.
that is a lot of washing.

    • I was fairly tolerant of being stuck in the car for most of the time, but it got frustrating in the end! The kids were pretty good, considering! Pokemon hunting really enhanced the holiday and kept them out of mischief 🙂

  3. LOVE Padstow, cannot wait to see it for myself again next weekend. I’m hoping we have a little of your good weather when we’re away, but knowing my luck ……. Hope you enjoyed the football, I have no idea what the result was! #366

    • Hope you have a lovely time in Padstow too. We’re usually unlucky with the weather! We loved the football, even though my team (Leicester City) lost 2-1 to Man Utd.

  5. 16 years is a long time to go back to the same place. It must be a wonderful place. And perfect weather – although it’s so depressing the amount of washing after a holiday.

  8. What a long journey home, I did read there was an accident somewhere and wondered if you were caught up in the tailbacks. I had assumed you were on your annual holiday. Also so pleased that you got the nice weather this year! You’re like me with Hope Cove, I don’t think I will ever tired of it!

  10. Great photos, I’m so glad you had such a great holiday. I’m a bit surprised you didn’t go go-karting, I had you down as the competitive type that would battle it out to beat the boys!

  11. Padstow looks as lovely as I remember it – must get back for a proper explore of Cornwall. I loathe the washing after time away and the lack of space to dry drives me potty. Maybe you could camp down there next time?! 😉

  12. Fab pictures of your holiday Sarah, and well done to your daughter (and sons) for walking all those miles. I think my daughter would start moaning after a mile. I think that is the biggest inflatable slide I have ever seen x
