Project 365 2018 Week 5

Well February is here, and I’m sure we’re all pleased to see it. I really dislike January, but I did think that it went very fast. Just me?

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 28 – Sunday 28th January – an incredibly warm, sunny day – it got to 15 degrees! We all went to see The Greatest Showman, which was absolutely fantastic. If you’re wondering what this photo is, it’s slime with foam balls (or ‘floam’), in a stainless steel bowl. I thought it made for a really cool picture.

Day 29 – Monday 29th January – a quiet day of work, as things just weren’t falling into place on the articles I’m working on. The weather went from sunny to rainy to back again, and it looks like we’ll have a daffodil in the next day or two! Daffodils are my absolute favourite flowers because they signify spring.

Day 30 – Tuesday 30th January – my daughter has an important audition on Thursday, so she waited until yesterday evening to inform me that her ballet shoes had holes in them. Luckily, her ballet teacher has a huge stock of shoes to borrow. We brought home every pair in a size 4 to a 5.5 to find the perfect fit.

Day 31 – Wednesday 31st January – I’m getting a bit worried about Eric the guinea pig, as he seems to have lost a lot of weight. I suspect Wilfred isn’t sharing the food very well, so I’ve started bringing Eric into the kitchen for an hour to give him some food on his own. And I had a meeting with a new potential client. It’s only for one job, but every little helps!

Day 32 – Thursday 1st February – a big day for my daughter, she had the day off school to audition for the Royal Ballet (I’ll tell you more about it on the blog in a few days). Then I had my son’s parents’ evening and a meeting about his German exchange. I was exhausted at the end of it.

Day 33 – Friday 2nd February – my daughter went to her friend’s house after school and my husband and I went to see Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which was absolutely brilliant! It’s the third consecutive weekend we’ve been to the cinema and the films started good (Darkest Hour), got better (The Greatest Showman), then even better – Three Billboards. My husband took this photo in the centre of Cheltenham. This is a famous and well-loved statue that went away for repair, came back and now is going away for more repairs.

Day 34 – Saturday 3rd February – it was another wet and muddy Parkrun, we haven’t had a dry one in 2018! My time is gradually improving and I recorded my best time since my injury. Then we rushed off to watch my son’s school football team. They got their first victory – a 5-2 win, and my son scored the first two goals.

  1. Hi Sarah, sounds like a busy week for you and your family. An audition with the Royal Ballet sounds exciting! I can’t remember the last time I went to the cinema, I’m terrible for nodding off in them… It does feel good to come back from an injury, may your running go from strength to strength.

    xx

    • Thanks very much. It is so exciting to audition, even though we know her chances of getting in are tiny. It’s really good to be running well again. I love the cinema and don’t tend to nod off in there, although I’m terrible for falling asleep in front of the TV! x

  2. Love that first photo of the beaded slime. Very abstract. Well done on the park run. It’s a pain that the weekends are always the bad weather.

  4. How wonderful to audition for Royal Ballet! A big achievement in itself. The slime looks cool indeed, I’d never have guessed what it is. Naughty Wilfred not sharing with poor Eric.

  5. I am loving daffodils right now. My work will soon go crazy with planting them everywhere. I think I might try to pop to the cinema to watch 3 billboards. I keep hearing good things about it and I love that actress that’s in it (whose name I don’t remember!)

  6. Glad to hear you are getting back to fitness. Typical of kids not to mention holes in shoes until just before a big day – glad you were able to sort it.

  7. Fingers crossed for a new client Sarah, and of course fingers crossed for your daughter too. Just to get an audition is an amazing achievement. I can’t actually remember when all 4 of us went to the cinema together, it was probably about 5 years ago !!!! We can never agree on watching films at home never mind at the cinema x

    • Thanks very much, we were so happy for her to get the audition. It’s the first time in a very long time we’ve all been to the cinema too. We never watch films at home, apart from my eldest who has the world’s biggest collection of DVDs!

  8. until you said the slime was in a jug, i thought it was overflowing from a tub, rooting for R for her Ballet and crossing fingers and toes, the experience alone is fantastic though. have you bought yourself some new trainers yet?

    • Thanks very much! I think you know the answer to the new trainers question…
