Week 2 of Project 365 2018 and it occurs to me I may have some new readers who don’t know us. So, I’m Sarah, married mum of three big kids – two boys aged 16 and 14 and a girl aged 11. I don’t post recognisable photos of them on the blog, but my blog is still all about family life.
Here’s our week in pictures…
Day 7 – Sunday 7th January – my husband and younger son went out for coffee in the morning and ended up going to Ikea! Both of the younger kids needed desks and my son chose himself this particularly comfy desk chair.
Day 8 – Monday 8th January – my work wasn’t going to smoothly, so I decided to get a few chores out of the way, including the annual bargain Christmas trip to M&S. Sadly I’d left it a bit late and couldn’t get any Christmas cards, but I got some wrapping paper at 75% off.
Day 9 – Tuesday 9th January – I went for a fasting blood test. I’m not very good without food. Having woken at 5, my blood test was just after 9am. I was so hungry that my vision was getting blurry and I was concerned about getting down the two flights of stairs afterwards. At least this was waiting for me in the car! A couple of mouthfuls and I instantly felt better.
Day 10 – Wednesday 10th January – a very foggy day. I went for a quick walk just before I picked my son up from school. I thought these two figures in the distance looked very spooky.
Day 11 – Thursday 11th January – my daughter’s room is making good progress and she now has a desk! If you look carefully, you’ll see the clutter on the floor which still has to be sorted.
Day 12 – Friday 12th January – last week I mentioned that I was going to get my ensuite done soon. This is why it needs doing… That toilet doesn’t flush and the shower you can’t see doesn’t work.
Day 13 – Saturday 13th January – my son had his first ever secondary school football match (they don’t start playing until Year 9 and literally had their first training session last week). It was a close game and they lost 4-3, but I was a very happy mum as my son scored a hat trick.
Project 365 is a bloghop. Hop over to see what others have been up to this week.

Sarah,
I hope you’re still attracting new readers. As you have previously said, there don’t seem to be many people blogging about what you blog about.

Ohh! That desk chair does look comfy & very stylish.
I got some wrapping paper this week with 75% off….I bet I come to find it at the end of the year and can’t. lol
Good luck with the bathroom. You can see it really needs work done on it.
Well done your son and his team. x

There’s nothing wrong with your ensuite, it’ll be back in fashion before you know it….lol. That photo is very spooky of the 2 figures in the distance, like a 1950’s horror movie

My Mum does the same with the Christmas shopping in January and I keep meaning too as it makes great sense. Those wellies are fab! #365

This foggy morning shot is just beautiful. I can see exactly why the ensuite needs sorting – bet it will look amazing when it’s sorted too #365

yes I buy my paper and cards in January as well, and then pop it in the loft, saves a small fortune.
Love your wellies.
we only have one shower room so it has to keep working, but loved our en-suite when the children were younger, a second toilet is a godsend.

Lovely photos. I love those wellies!

Congratulations to your son on the hat-trick, those wellies are fab. Our bathroom is still that exact same pink colour, painting it is on my neverending list to do! I bought all of y wrapping paper for next year on 27th December, now all I need to do is remember that I have bought it when it gets to December!

The misty photo looks very eerie. I love that desk, it’s fab. I love the wellies and I’ve never owned a pair since I was a child. Really. Way to go on the hat trick, that is fab. The house stuff is just never ending isn’t it? Always something. xx
January 14, 2018
The house stuff really is never ending! We were very pleased with the hat trick. I’m amazed you haven’t had wellies since childhood. They’ve been back in my life for about 15 years now – they come in very useful for football and rugby!

Love that foggy shot. Productive with the desks and chairs. You forgot to mention that the current ensuite is pink!
January 14, 2018
Thanks very much. The fog was very thick, but it made for great pictures! I love the colour pink, but definitely not in bathrooms!
January 14, 2018
Loving the wellies and I have the same Ikea chair and it’s so comfortable!

Big well done to your son for scoring a hat trick! That office chair looks comfy and stylish. Love the photo of the foggy road. And your wellies look pretty too.
January 14, 2018
Thanks very much. I was so proud of my son for getting his hat trick. I do love to wear pink wellies!
January 14, 2018
The chair does look very cosey and comfy and I was the same as you, I didn’t manage to get much wrapping paper on sale this year. I did get some v cheap Xmas cards though!
January 14, 2018
He’s very pleased with his chair – and daughter is rather jealous! I was gutted to miss out on my cards, but the paper is a really good saving.
January 15, 2018
Love the chair! Very slick and stylish.
Fasting blood tests are horrible. I hate the feeling when you’ve went slightly too long and everything goes a bit funny! I do hope the test comes back clear for you.
The wrapping paper and cards in the sales are such a good idea. I must remember next year as I bought to much this year.
I adore your wellies!! Well done to your son on his hat trick!
January 16, 2018

January 19, 2018
