Project 365 2015 Week 51

The end of term is finally here! It’s been a long and tiring week with far too much time sat in traffic jams driving my kids places. I’m ready for a break!

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 347 – Sunday 13th December – I wasn’t sure whether we’d manage it this weekend, but at 4pm we finally got ourselves a Christmas tree!

Day 348 – Monday 14th December – the tree is up and decorated (the phone box turned out to be the world’s heaviest decoration which dragged down nearly all of the branches).

Day 349 – Tuesday 15th December – I had a sneaky trip to the panto on my own in the morning. It never gets boring! And this is the card I got for my husband – I’ve looked at a lot of ‘husband’ cards, but you know when you’ve found the right one!

Day 350 – Wednesday 16th December – I have such lovely clients!

Day 351 – Thursday 17th December – it was 16 degrees today! My kids have been in the sea in lower temperatures than that in Padstow in August. I spent far too much of the day in the car (despite the fact I had some new, urgent work to do), picking up my daughter from panto and taking her to and from two school Christmas carol concerts. I’m getting fed up of the mum taxi and I’m ready for a break from it now.

Day 352 – Friday 18th December – the last day of term! My eldest wasn’t well enough to go to school and my daughter brought this card home. That’s a tree decoration, but as it weighs even more than the phone box decoration, it won’t be going anywhere near the tree!

Day 353 – Saturday 19th December – my daughter ran her first Parkrun since Halloween (she hasn’t been able to do it due to the panto). She did it in a really bad time, which she wasn’t happy about, but at least she got to wear her new Parkrun 10 milestone Tshirt for the first time.

  1. the park run time will give her something to aim at improving over the holidays, I am sure she will soon get back into the swing of it.
Activities for kids are great but the taxi driver does get fed up, lots of years yet left to do.
That looks like rather a big tree to fit in the car.
The weather temperatures are bonkers-5 here on Sunday and then 17 during the week.

    • Thanks, I’m sure she will get back into the Parkrun again soon. It was a bit of a squeeze for the tree, but we got it in!

  3. I haven’t done Parkrun since Halloween either – life has got in the way and it’s been easier to do 7 am runs on Saturdays lately. I love the card with the decoration on it – must remember that one – and the phone box dec is lovely! Great chocolates. Have a very Happy Christmas x x

  6. It has been so warm lately….Not like December at all!
The phone box decoration looks brilliant….We have a few that we are too heavy for the tree. Such a shame.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas x

    • I really like the mild weather, but it is a bit strange. I try to hang the heavy decorations where there’s another branch underneath to support them! Merry Christmas to you too. x

  10. I LOVE that card – saying that its me that does the decorations in our house. I cannot believe it is so mild, I am starting to wish for some cold weather

  11. You finally got your tree! Looks fab and I really like that phone box decoration, no matter how heavy it is. I’m with you on the break from being mum taxi. I don’t see that happening any time soon though!

    • Yes, we finally got it! I think the mum taxi will at least ease up a bit over Christmas, even if it doesn’t stop altogether!

  12. im glad you’re still enjoying the pant, is R tiring of it yet? We have the same phone box decoration on our tree, which is artificial, that looks a spectacular sized tree, a real tree here is over £160 and the artificial ones aren’t much cheaper either, so i’ll stick with the one I have, which does look a little small in our villa

    • She’s not tiring at all! She’s still loving every second of it. Wow, that’s really expensive for a real tree! No wonder you want to stick with the artificial one.

  13. The weather has been really bizarre with us too! We went out on Christmas eve in T-shirts and summer shoes! Love the phone box, even if it is rather heavy. I have to say, I’m not missing being a taxi, enjoying the break from all activities 🙂 Hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas x
