Project 365 Week 5

Week 5 and we’ve made it to the end of January and into February! I like February because it’s short and marks the end of winter! I’m not a big fan of winter, to say the least.

This hasn’t been a particularly exciting week on the photo front, but it’s been exciting in other ways. This is what we’ve been up to…

Day 26 – Sunday 26th January – the kids and me went for a walk up the hill in the wind, rain and hail.

Day 27 – Monday 27th January – we had a wooden floor fitted in our hall and the transformation was complete.

I know it’s not really the done thing to publish older photos, but please permit me to share this one from just 20 days earlier! That’s how far we’ve come…

Day 28 – Tuesday 28th January – I took a momentous decision. After nearly 15 years working at the same place, I put in for voluntary redundancy.

Day 29 – Wednesday 29th January – my daughter drew this design for a Lion King drawing competition at school. She said: ‘I assume I’ll win’. I told her to assume not, but bless her confidence.

Day 30 – Thursday 30th January – I’ve shared lots of the good stuff in my house, but here’s the view I have from my horrible, boiling hot shower. It’s pretty special, isn’t it?

Day 31 – Friday 31st January – it rained pretty much all day, but I captured this sunrise through the window before the deluge set in.

Day 32 – Saturday 1st February – I’ll finish the week with my now-customary photo of the new bathroom. This is how it’s looking after seven days of work. I can’t wait for it to be finished!

  3. So impressed with how you are taking so much action on the new house and making such improvements.
Feels weird to hear about voluntary redundancy considering our situation but I hope it is the right choice for you and leads to wonderful new opportunities.
Love your daughter’s confidence and hope it pays off.

  16. Thank you very much for your lovely comments everyone! Glad you all like our new hallway – the transformation is certainly coming along quickly!
The first picture is my favourite too, Kate! I am a little nervous about the voluntary redundancy, but I’ve become increasingly unhappy at work and I’m only going to get more unhappy. I’m hoping it’s the right choice for me!
My daughter didn’t win that drawing competition, but she was fine about it!
