We share the world with them, but how much do we really know about animals? Not a lot, it would seem, if my kids are anything to go by.

B1 age 9 3/4: Would you like a pet albatross?

B1 age 9 3/4: Do you think there’s any sort of bird you can ride on?

LG age 5: I’m lucky I wasn’t a tiny creature or I might have been stepped on.

B2 age 7 1/2: There’s a dead snail there covered in snail blood. Snail blood’s brown.

B2 age 7 3/4: That’s a once in a lifetime thing for someone to touch a butterfly.

LG age 6: You know the very first dog in the world, yeah? Who built it?
