On accidents and illnesses

They play a big part in the kids’ lives (too big, in my opinion), so it’s not surprising they have questions about accidents and illnesses. Although the specific subject matter may be somewhat surprising.

B1 age 9 1/4: Have you ever been rescued?

B1 age 9 1/4: Can anything make you sick? Can too much water make you drunk?

B1 age 9 1/4: Is this dangerous? If you were in a hot air balloon and you had a huge snowball, as big as a snowman, and you threw it and it hit someone?

LG age 4 3/4: If you fell on your head and broke your brain, what would that do? When Miss Scrivens asked me a question I would have to say ‘I don’t know because I broke my brain’.

LG age 4 3/4: I like bandages. And I like being poorly.

LG age 4 3/4: What happens if you’re ill on your birthday?

B1 age 9 1/2: Why do people necessarily die in a plane crash?

Me: You’ve got sunburn!
B1 age 9 1/2: Will I get breast cancer?

B1 age 9 1/2: Have you ever had a stroke in this bed from overheating?
