My two had their first overnight camp – one night – with the Beavers Scouts this summer. Will be so wonderful for them when they start doing longer stays like your boys. Had no idea they were given ‘neckers’ for them 🙂
I bet they loved that! My younger son did his first one-nighter with Beavers when he was 7. Four years later he did 12 nights in Holland with Scouts! The really big international camps usually have their own camp necker. Kids like to collect them (as you can tell from this pic!).
A jamborette? Wow is that what they’re called these days and not a jamboree?? I take it there was a big pile of washing for you to do on their return? #MySundayPhoto
I certainly was! They actually didn’t work for them – they’re the neckers of the individual sub-camps and my younger son decided to buy a full set as a souvenir. He was wearing them when he got home 🙂

Ah, summer camp! We’re packing the boys off to their grandparents’ for the week next week – the next best thing!
Hope they have a good time! My boys were gone for 12 days, so I was very happy to have them back!

I certainly am! Remarkably they were up pretty early the day after they got back – they’d got used to getting up at 7.30 Dutch time.

I think a jamboree and a jamborette are the same. I just tried looking it up and couldn’t find any difference! There was a huge pile of washing!
