It’s been another week of sitting at my dining table trying to get my freelance career off the ground. I’m getting more used to it – and hopefully my leads are starting to pay off!
Day 117 – Sunday 27th April – when I got back from Blog Camp on Saturday, I discovered my husband had bought some new lounge curtains – we’d been using an old pair of my mum’s since we moved in.
Day 118 – Monday 28th April – I’m preparing my wardrobe for a social networking event. But nowhere seems to have size 8s in stock! I bought these, but a Twitter discussion confirmed they weren’t really a safe bet (I still love them, though!).
Day 119 – Tuesday 29th May – the warm, damp weather has made my garden grow like wildfire! (More on that in a few days) This isn’t the best photo I took, but I like the mix of colours.
Day 120 – Wednesday 30th April – a sad day. My very last day of using my car. It costs too much to run and needs a lot of repair work, so the Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) starts tomorrow.
Day 121 – Thursday 1st May – my daughter is an incredible little hairdresser and thinks nothing of wearing two fishtail plaits to school! I wouldn’t have the first idea how to do them myself.
Day 122 – Friday 2nd March – my daughter’s best friend came round. They’ve been learning about ancient Egypt at school and my daughter decided to dress up as a mummy. Using toilet paper.
Day 123 – Saturday 3rd May – my favourite photo of the day wasn’t taken by me, it was this lovely selfie by my daughter (the original version is even more beautiful, but I’ve just cropped her a bit to make her less recognisable!).
Linking up to Project 365 with TheBoyandMe Pop over to see what others have been up to this week.

Wow her hair is beautiful! I would love to do that in Isabelle’s hair but I have no idea! Your husband did well my husband wouldn’t have a clue x
May 4, 2014
I have no idea either! She did the hair all herself. My husband has been in charge of interior decoration of our house and he has done a very good job! x
May 3, 2014
Oh my gosh your car is beautiful! I realised after seeing your sat cap you must have had it for about 10 years at least!
May 4, 2014
Thanks! Yes, it’s over 10 years – will be 11 in September.
May 3, 2014
I want you car, I would love a yellow WW 🙂 great pictures from your week, looks like your daughter had fun with the toilet paper. …
May 3, 2014
Fab round up. Love the mummy picture, my eldest has been learning about Egypt too 🙂 I can do fishtail plaits but nowhere near as neat as your daughter!!! xx
May 4, 2014
Your daughter must be in year 3 too? I can’t do fishtails at all – I think tiny fingers do a better job! x
May 3, 2014
Wow to the hair! I wish my girl would do her own like that. Your photos are all nice and big this week 🙂 I love the wildness of the garden pic and what a lovely car 🙁
May 4, 2014
Yes, my photos worked out for once! Hopefully I’ll manage to get it right next week too. I love my car!
May 3, 2014
I see why you were so sad about the car. It does seem a shame not to drive it. Hopefully, you’ll soon be doing so well as a freelancer that you will have it back on the road.
May 4, 2014
I really hope so! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Love the Mummy! Nothing like getting involved with history #365

Nice plaits. I don’t get the comment about the shoes. What’s wrong with them? I love them.
May 4, 2014
Thanks, there’s nothing wrong with the shoes, it’s just that I bought them in desperation for a networking event, then realised they weren’t suitable for that. Not if I want people to think I’m responsible and give me work!
May 3, 2014
I hope all is going well with the freelancing, must be strange making the transition. Sorry about your car although I’m sure you won’t have to wait long before you get it running again. Your daughter’s fishtails are great as the loo roll photo and the selfie!
May 4, 2014
I think the freelancing will work, Charly. I’ve just had some good leads, so hopefully they will turn into work! Glad you like all the pics of my daughter 🙂
May 3, 2014
Wow, your daughters hair is amazing! I wouldn’t know where to start 🙂 Sorry about your car x The last photo is beautiful x
May 4, 2014
Thanks very much, she’s a gorgeous girl! x
May 3, 2014
what a super duper car you have Sarah i love that colour. is SORN ing it just a temp thing?
Your daughter is so clever doing those plaits i would never be able to do that.
May 4, 2014
SORN is hopefully a temporary thing just until I earn some money – fingers crossed!
May 4, 2014
Love your shots this week Sarah! Jealous of your garden. And your daughter’s plaits are rather magnificent.
May 4, 2014
Thanks very much, Kriss. Somehow photos are nicer now it’s spring 🙂

You have my dream car (even if it is off the road). I had an old Beetle when I first passed my test. I was gutted when I realised that the new one only has two seats in the back…..definitely too small for me at the moment.
I need you to teach me how to do fishtail Plaits
May 4, 2014
The Beetle wasn’t big enough for us really – only room for mummy and kids, but no daddy!
May 4, 2014
Love your garden – so much variety going on.
i wouldn’t know where to start with fishtail plaits either – I have enough trouble with normal ones.
May 4, 2014
Those plaits where gorgeous!! What a great week you guys have had, and sad times about the VW beetle. LOVE those cars and such a pretty colour too. #365
May 5, 2014
Love the plaits and a cool mummy. I love seeing them having fun with what they learn! Your garden looks wild and beautiful. #365
May 6, 2014
Thanks very much, the garden is fab! You can imagine how much mess there was after the mummy!
May 8, 2014
Wow to the selfie and hair braids. I can do them but she must be good to do them herself! Sorry to hear about your car!
May 17, 2014
Those plaits are astoundingly good, I wouldn’t know where to start! Sorry to hear about your car, hope that you manage to get it sorted soon.
Thanks for linking up to Project 365, the new linky is now live.
