Looking after the family cars

Our family has two oldish cars, which we rely on pretty heavily. My husband’s car is a six year old VW Touran, which is our car for holidays, luggage and long journeys. It is very comfortable for passengers, but I’m not so keen on driving it. Wednesday was the day the phrase ‘one of those days’ was surely invented for. It started at 5.45am. My husband needed to catch an early flight. He took my car because his own has been playing up a bit recently. Two minutes later, he rang me. My car had broken down just two miles up the road.
