What she wore: Autumn cable knit dress

Well autumn is finally here! And my daughter and I have finally been shopping for some new clothes for her. Sadly I haven’t been able to create the sort of capsule wardrobe we managed last year, but she’s chosen a few bits and pieces that she likes and hopefully they will more or less fit together! Jumper dresses have been a wardrobe staple for her for the past couple of years. This is her favourite rabbit dress from last...

What she wore: Falling into autumn

It’s transition time! Gone are the summer dresses and stroppy playsuits, but we’re not quite ready for the winter woollies just yet (thank goodness!). So what is a little girl supposed to wear in September and October? I must admit we haven’t put much thought into her autumn wardrobe yet, mainly because I’m in denial and want it to still be summer. Conquering constipation and chocolate medicine

After two doses of medicine accompanied by stress and tears, and knowing we had another 28 doses to get through, we needed to do something differently. So we gave my daughter a straw so she could get the medicine straight to the back of her throat without touching her tongue and hopefully it wouldn’t taste as bad. We managed a 15 minute dose of medicine with no tears! Result! After that, the doses slowly crept back up to 20 or 25...

Chocolate medicine

My daughter has been suffering from bedtime tummy aches for about a year now. When she has a tummy ache, she eventually falls asleep, then sleeps the whole night and wakes up perfectly fine. When, after tummy aches for three consecutive nights, she woke up not fine, I switched my plans from ‘see the doctor after our holiday’ to ‘see the doctor NOW’. I’d noticed she’d been weeing rather a lot, which...
