Project 365 2019 Week 21

It’s been a warm and sunny week, I’ve had a decent amount of work and my son has started his A Levels!

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 139 – Sunday 19th May – my husband ran Hackney half marathon, while the rest of us stayed at home. I went for an eight mile run, then my daughter and I gave the guinea pigs a bath.

Day 140 – Monday 20th May – my son’s first day home of revising for his A Levels. I had a lot of work on, so we didn’t see much of each other during the day. I took this photo from my bedroom window at sunset.

Day 141 – Tuesday 21st May – despite having left school, my son actually went to school all day today for revision lessons. After all those weeks of running slower than usual for marathon training, I was pleased to do a run at my old pace. I had a decent amount of work and took this photo on my afternoon walk.

Day 142 – Wednesday 22nd May – my son had his first A Level exam – the first of his three geography papers. He was pleased with how it went. Here’s hoping his other eight exams go as well.

Day 143 – Thursday 23rd May – my next half marathon, in three weeks, includes some pretty big hills. So I decided to do some hill training by running up and down a long, steep road. It was also my hottest run of the year so far, as this photo shows.

Day 144 – Friday 24th May – my son had his second A Level, which he said went well. Exams suit him better than schoolwork throughout the year, so I’m hoping he does well. It was another lovely hot, sunny day. It’s particularly good when sun coincides with sheet washing day!

Day 145 – Saturday 25th May – a very hot morning for parkrun, but that was good. It was my second one back to running at normal pace and I knocked a few seconds off from last week. My daughter is running with her friend every week and they’re aiming to get down to 28 minutes in a few weeks’ time.

  2. Good luck to you son with all the exams! Fingers crossed, they all go smoothly for him. I remember how stressful I found any exam.
The guinea pig looks so cute after his bath. The pink sky is beautiful.
The washing always smells lovely after being dried outside, alas, we have too many pigeons around here.

    • Thanks very much. My son has seemed pretty chilled about his first couple of exams and I’ve been pleased with how well he’s worked so far.
The guinea pigs are so cute after their bath! How annoying about the pigeons! I’m pleased to say that is rarely a problem here. We mainly have magpies in our garden!

    • Thanks very much. The guinea pigs look so cute when they have a bath. The week after half term is a big one, with most of his exams. He needs to work hard this week! I probably preferred coursework myself, but didn’t mind exams either.

  4. Hope the exams continue well. I was the same at school – hated coursework, especially long projects, but got on fine with exams. It looks like N is going to be the same as he seems to enjoy the exams and tests he’s done in school so far.

    • Thanks very much. He’s made a really good start, so I hope he will keep it up. The first week after half term is the big one! I probably preferred coursework, but exams never used to worry me either.

  5. Sounds as if the exams are going well for him. Morgan started off doing Geography but changed it as he is the opposite to your son. He prefers the coursework throughout the year rather than a big exam. I bet you can’t believe it’s exam time again. Aw I bet the guinea pigs are so cute when they have a bath x

    • Exam time does seem to have come round rather quickly! My son isn’t very good at working during the years, so exams really suit him. The guinea pigs are cute when they have a bath, but they’re also rather hard work! x

    • I wouldn’t say they enjoyed the bath as such, but it has to be done every now and then! My son has made a really good start on the A Levels, thanks.

    • Thanks very much! I think it will take another two or three weeks for my daughter to get to 28. She needs to do it before the end of the school year. My son has revised well over half term, so I’m hoping he will do well when he gets back to school next week. x
