Project 365 2018 Week 47

Way back when I first joined in with Project 365 in 2014, I found November a really difficult time to take photos – far too much darkness and nothing pretty to take pictures of. So I decided to summarise my week in shoes. And I’ve done it for a week in November ever since.

Here’s our week in shoes…

Day 322 – Sunday 18th November – my son’s football team won their first game in a while, a 2-1 victory with a goal for my son. For most of the football (and rugby) season I wear wellies to watch.

Day 322 – Monday 19th November – ballet day for my daughter. I still love her pointe shoes and am grateful we haven’t had to buy her a second pair yet. Now she’s done her Grade 4 exam, she will have less ballet classes every week (which she’s not that happy about).

Day 323 – Tuesday 20th November – this is a pair of shoes that wasn’t needed today – my younger son’s school shoes. He started feeling ill yesterday evening and had the look of a boy who wouldn’t be at school for the rest of the week, but sleeping until 2pm (!) made him feel a lot better.

Day 324 – Wednesday 21st November – for me, one of the many good things about my eldest being at a girls’ school is that it gives him the opportunity to play rugby for the school. They lose most of their matches and always play against C teams/ 3rd XVs, but that doesn’t matter.

Day 325 – Thursday 22nd November – of course I couldn’t share one boy’s rugby boots without sharing the other. My younger son had a match today, a narrow victory. He came home with his usual ‘rugby aches’, including some in muscles he’d never felt before.

Day 326 – Friday 23rd November – an inset day for my younger son, so no school shoes needed! A good opportunity to sleep and allow the rugby aches to heal.

Day 327 – Saturday 24th November – parkrun day! Generally speaking, I run two mornings a week before work, plus parkrun on Saturday and a longer run on Sunday.

I hope you enjoyed my week in shoes. I could easily do another week as there were plenty of shoes that didn’t make the cut, including the other school shoes and more of my daughter’s many dance shoes, but I think I will spare you that experience!

    • Thanks very much! Life is always so much easier when I’m doing the shoe weeks! It’s tempting to do another one, but I won’t. The pointe shoes are so expensive, but hopefully we’ll have a few more months out of the current pair. x

  2. What a great idea to do a shoe week! Love your trendy Joules wellies. I had won a voucher for Joules recently, and popped in the shop to see what to spend it on. I opted for scarves as that is something I would wear often. Ballet shoes look pretty too.

    • Thanks very much, it certainly makes life easier just photographing shoes! I got a Joules voucher for a blogpost a couple of years ago just when my old wellies had worn out, so I knew what I was going to spend it on!

  3. a great shoe week. Love those wellies, and I also love the stories behind each pair.
Hope son is feeling better now.
I am glad that losing more than they win is not putting the team off of playing.

    • Thanks very much. My son is all fine after his day off school. They do lose a bit of heart when they lose games, so I’m hoping the win will spur them on to a few more wins now.

  4. My week in shoes would be less energetic and would probably just be the same pair of birkenstocks worn to the mall, to walk the dog and do the food shop

    • Ha ha, my summer week would be a bit like that, but with Crocs flip flops! It helps that I have five people’s shoes to choose from as just mine would be boring. I don’t even own seven pairs of shoes to fill a week!

  7. Hope your son is feeling better now!

I know what you mean about November being hard for taking photos. I find December hard too as we don’t celebrate Christmas and usually don’t have much to share!

Oh and I love those Wellies!

  8. This is such an interesting way to do a post! I might steal the idea for some week next year, maybe do something a little different such as food or clothes. #project365
