Way back when I first joined in with Project 365 in 2014, I found November a really difficult time to take photos – far too much darkness and nothing pretty to take pictures of. So I decided to summarise my week in shoes. And I’ve done it for a week in November ever since.
Here’s our week in shoes…
Day 322 – Sunday 18th November – my son’s football team won their first game in a while, a 2-1 victory with a goal for my son. For most of the football (and rugby) season I wear wellies to watch.
Day 322 – Monday 19th November – ballet day for my daughter. I still love her pointe shoes and am grateful we haven’t had to buy her a second pair yet. Now she’s done her Grade 4 exam, she will have less ballet classes every week (which she’s not that happy about).
Day 323 – Tuesday 20th November – this is a pair of shoes that wasn’t needed today – my younger son’s school shoes. He started feeling ill yesterday evening and had the look of a boy who wouldn’t be at school for the rest of the week, but sleeping until 2pm (!) made him feel a lot better.
Day 324 – Wednesday 21st November – for me, one of the many good things about my eldest being at a girls’ school is that it gives him the opportunity to play rugby for the school. They lose most of their matches and always play against C teams/ 3rd XVs, but that doesn’t matter.
Day 325 – Thursday 22nd November – of course I couldn’t share one boy’s rugby boots without sharing the other. My younger son had a match today, a narrow victory. He came home with his usual ‘rugby aches’, including some in muscles he’d never felt before.
Day 326 – Friday 23rd November – an inset day for my younger son, so no school shoes needed! A good opportunity to sleep and allow the rugby aches to heal.
Day 327 – Saturday 24th November – parkrun day! Generally speaking, I run two mornings a week before work, plus parkrun on Saturday and a longer run on Sunday.
I hope you enjoyed my week in shoes. I could easily do another week as there were plenty of shoes that didn’t make the cut, including the other school shoes and more of my daughter’s many dance shoes, but I think I will spare you that experience!
