Project 365 2018 Weeks 35 & 36

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, with a trip to Center Parcs and the kids going back to school.

Here’s our fortnight in pictures… (Apologies, I feel there are too many selfies!)

Day 238  – Sunday 26th August – I started the day with a 10 mile run in the rain, my longest run since Tewkesbury half marathon. I actually timed it pretty well, because the rain got even heavier when I got home.

Day 239 – Monday 27th August – Bank Holiday Monday! It was a remarkably boring day, with my eldest getting up extremely late, my husband working at home and the other two kids happy to sit looking at their phones all day. I took the opportunity to do some reading.

Day 240 – Tuesday 28th August – back to work for me, while the kids amused themselves. I’m cheating a bit with this photo, but it was too good not to use. My husband was working in London and went to the Sky Garden in the evening. How amazing is that view?

Day 241 – Wednesday 29th August – a busy day of work and lots of driving around. I’m pleased to say that my son has passed his driving theory test now! I’ve got to go to court tomorrow as a witness after seeing an attempted burglary at my neighbour’s house a few weeks ago. My neighbour gave me this card and a little gift to say thanks.

Day 242 – Thursday 30th August – I was supposed to be a witness in a court case about an attempted burglary. I was very nervous and sat for nearly four hours in the witness room before the case was called off. I was annoyed about the wasted time, but very happy that I didn’t have to stand up in court!

Day 243 – Friday 31st August – my mum’s birthday! We went to Center Parcs for the weekend with my entire family – mum and dad; sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew; and my brother and sister-in-law.

Day 244 – Saturday 1st September – we spent about six hours in the swimming pool (in two separate sessions). Before that, my husband, daughter and I went for an early morning walk with my sister and her family down to the lake to feed the ducks.

Day 245 – Sunday 2nd September – we started the day with a family 10 mile run around Center Parcs – my husband, son, brother-in-law and I all ran. It was son’s longest run to date. My daughter went swimming with the rest of the family in the morning and the pool got evacuated! Everyone was sent outside in their swimwear. In the afternoon, my daughter did the Aerial Adventure, which she loves.

Day 246 – Monday 3rd September – we left Center Parcs at about lunchtime. The sun was shining for the first time! We’d had a really good break, but it was time to get home and get ready for school. Who knew that you could get Superdry at Center Parcs?

Day 247 – Tuesday 4th September – the last day of the school holidays. Two of the kids went out for great chunks of the day and one of them didn’t even want to leave the house to buy a much-needed gumshield! The school shoes are ready for tomorrow.

Day 248 – Wednesday 5th September – back to school – year 13, year 10 and year 8. The kids were all up and ready on time for once. This is my eldest with my daughter. I didn’t manage to get a photo of the three of them together as my younger son sets off later, so he wasn’t ready!

Day 249 – Thursday 6th September – this week has been dire with hardly any work. I really hope it picks up next week. But it has been nice to have the house to myself. I took this photo of myself for Instagram Stories because I realised I was wearing a pink hoodie and red trainers. Call the fashion police! (Needless to say, such minor details don’t bother me in the slightest.)

Day 250 – Friday 7th September – a quiet day at home with no work, not good! I know things always pick up, but I do worry when it goes quiet. You can tell it’s autumn, the michaelmas daisies are coming out in the garden.

Day 251 – Saturday 8th September – parkrun for my husband and I first thing, then we went to watch my son’s first school rugby match of the season, which was a comfortable win. My daughter went out early for a sleepover, so it’s going to be a quiet day!

  5. Glad you enjoyed your family long weekend. Happy belated birthday to your mum.
Gosh at the length of your daughters skirt….up here most school skirts tend to show off tomorrows washing under them!!!
Totally annoying that you sit around so long and then are not needed.

The skirts have to be a certain length at my daughter’s school, they’re very strict about it!

  8. Big well done on the 10-mile run! And a happy belated birthday to your Mum! The cake looks lovely.
eeek at spending 6 hours in the pool. We were in the swimming pool for an hour last Saturday, and I was bored to death even at that, nearly fell asleep there. 🙂
You deserve the gift and card from your neighbour.
Did you like C.Ahern’s new book?

    • Thanks very much, my mum had a fantastic birthday. I couldn’t spend more than an hour in a normal pool, but there is so much to do in the pool at Center Parcs with different slides and a wave machine etc. It keeps you very busy! I thought the book was OK, but I wouldn’t be in any hurry to read another one of hers.
