Always looks very strange when you come across a tidal river to find boats effectively in dry dock isn’t it? Great view too, looks very peaceful.
August 12, 2018
Thanks, it is pretty peaceful! Not so much when you get closer to the town. The boats are like this twice a day in Padstow – the tide goes out so far it looks like you could literally walk across the estuary to Rock (although I suspect you actually couldn’t).

Hi Sarah, I can almost smell the salty sea air looking at this photo. It’s odd to think that in a few hours the boats will be bobbing away on water again.

Absolutely! I find the tides so fascinating as they’re changing constantly. I found myself watching them all the time.

Our rivers never look like that here. Mud flats are strangely beautiful
August 12, 2018
It’s the estuary and the tides are pretty extreme. It seems to empty out completely at low tide. I never get bored of watching it!

Just goes to show how dry it’s been, we’ve had a day of rain in the past week.
Hope you have a good Sunday and thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto

We’ve had a couple of really wet days now! This was taken at low tide a couple of weeks ago.
August 12, 2018
It is amazing how the landscape changes when the tide is out. I don’t think I have ever been to Padstow – definitely one for the list 🙂
August 12, 2018
It’s a really lovely place to visit. I never tire of it. The tides are pretty extreme there, I love them!
August 12, 2018
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside …. Looking rather peaceful there.
August 12, 2018
It’s lovely and peaceful in that bit, a lot busier in the harbour!
August 12, 2018
reminds me straight away of the old saying heard from the grandparents and my fathers generation ‘tides out, mucks in’ #mysundayphoto
August 12, 2018
Love that! I’ve never heard it before, but it’s the sort of thing I can imagine my Grandad would have said.
August 12, 2018
A lovely view across the estuary here.
August 13, 2018
Thanks, it certainly is! I never tire of looking at the estuary and watching the tides.
August 12, 2018
That looks a fantastic place to visit. What a view!
It looks so peaceful there.
August 13, 2018
Thanks very much. It really is beautiful and this is a peaceful part. The harbour is much busier.
August 13, 2018
It looks so lovely and peaceful there. I’d love to visit this part of the world xx

It really is! It would be a very long journey for you, but I’m sure you would love it. x
