Project 365 2018 Weeks 24 & 25

It’s been a busy couple of weeks with a birthday, two athletics competitions and an Ed Sheeran concert, in addition to all of the usual stuff.

Here’s our fortnight in pictures…

Day 161 – Sunday 10th June –  a quiet day at home, catching up with stuff. The guinea pigs had their first bath of the year, or first bath ever, in the case of Cedric. Wilfred (that’s him in the towel) was incredibly calm about it and Cedric was surprisingly good too.

Day 162 – Monday 11th June – the start of the end of year exams for all of my kids. It was another hot and sunny day and I was working quietly at home. The garden was looking as lovely as ever.

Day 163 – Tuesday 12th June – happy birthday to my husband! Would you believe we’ve been together since just before his 20th birthday? I don’t say much about him on here, but he really is a brilliant man, who works so hard and really looks after us all. I was pleased he actually had a day off work today. We went out for lunch, then we had a barbecue at home just for the five of us, as we couldn’t really go out with the exams on.

Day 164 – Wednesday 13th June – a day with no work at all! Not good, but I managed to catch up on some blogging. It’s another photo of the pink flowers from my garden, but this is a separate plant in a different part of the garden.

Day 165 – Thursday 14th June – I was expecting no work again, so cleaned the bathrooms and was just about to start the weeding when a job came in from an old client, thank goodness! My daughter is gearing up to sell slime at a table top sale at the weekend. I’m very impressed with the way she has got prepared for it.

Day 166 – Friday 15th June – after a quiet couple of weeks, I was pleased to get a bit more work in. Spent a lot of time stressing about our complicated day tomorrow. With the World Cup underway, this thing is going to be a permanent fixture in our lounge.

Day 167 – Saturday 16th June – WHAT A DAY! An athletics competition, a slime sale and an amazing Ed Sheeran concert at Wembley. My husband drove us all there, even though he didn’t go to the concert and we got home at 1am. You can see more photos from the concert on my Instagram.

Day 168 – Sunday 17th June – another day, another athletics competition for my son. This one didn’t go anywhere near as well as yesterday’s, but most of the boys weren’t even jumping five metres, so I still felt proud of my son.

Day 169 – Monday 18th June – I took most of the day off work and went to the cinema with my friend. The film wasn’t great, but getting away from it all was brilliant! I really should do that more often. England’s first World Cup game ended in a 2-1 win, but there was A LOT of shouting from the menfolk during the evening.

Day 170 – Tuesday 19th June – a busier day with work, thank goodness. My eldest is on work experience this week, so he popped home for lunch. In the evening I had a particularly long drive to pick the boys up from canoeing with Explorers. And the hydrangeas are starting to come out in the garden.

Day 171 – Wednesday 20th June – I took this photo when I went for a walk in the afternoon. I go for two or three walks most days – it keeps me sane!

Day 172 – Thursday 21st June – the longest day! I should have posted a photo of the sunrise or sunset, but it was a busy day and the only photos I took were of flowers in the garden. My daughter went to school in the evening to help out with the year 6s. It doesn’t seem long since she was there as a year 6 herself.

Day 173 – Friday 22nd June – a day with a bit of work, but not quite enough. My eldest went off on Explorers camp in the evening. I took this photo on the second of my three daily walks. I thought it looked like such a quintessentially English image of the countryside in summer.

Day 174 – Saturday 23rd June – I took this photo of the clouds, but when I saw the tree in the bottom corner, I thought it made a much better photo than I had planned. I’m looking forward to the next few days of sunshine and warmth.

  2. You know I never would have even thought that you need to wash guinea pigs! I’d also be very impressed with the slime prep, it looks so professional. Well done her!

    • Thanks very much! Her slime production has got more and more professional in recent months. It’s recommended that guinea pigs have about three baths a year. I will only bath mine in the spring and summer months as they live outdoors and shouldn’t get too cold.

  3. Hope the exams went/are going ok. I used to love helping out at school open evenings when I was there. Surprising given I was so shy then. Your daughter is very entrepreneurial. Slime is a great idea to sell.
