Half-term has begun and it’s been another busy week of work, rounded off with a birthday.
Here’s our week in pictures…
Day 266 – Sunday 15th October – after my car was repaired last week the bottom wasn’t fixed back on properly. With a long journey to pick my son up from his Explorers camp, my husband did a temporary fixing job on it. It worked brilliantly! My younger son’s team won their football match 7-2 and my son scored his first hat trick of the season.
Day 267 – Monday 16th October – this was the day the sun turned orange and the sky turned a weird shade of yellowy-grey, thanks to Hurricane Ophelia and Sahara sand. It felt a bit like the apocalypse. When I went a walk, it was most definitely windy.
Day 268 – Tuesday 17th October – I watched my son play rugby and he was brilliant. He scored a try and put in some really clean tackles. Then I watched my daughter’s last jazz class before her exam on Thursday. She really shone. We still haven’t darned her pointe shoes, so I took this photo of her friend’s shoe to help us. My daughter said it looked like a photo of her intestines!
Day 269 – Wednesday 18th October regular readers will know my daughter loves making slime. She made this box of different coloured slimes at the weekend.
Day 270 – Thursday 19th October – the first day of half-term. I was struggling to juggle my work, the house and the kids. Hopefully it will get easier! My daughter took her Bronze jazz exam. More on that next week.
Day 271 – Friday 20th October – happy 14th birthday to my lovely younger son! We weren’t quite sure what to do, so we went to Bristol for a few hours, as the weather was so nice, then my family came round for a birthday tea as usual.
Day 272 – Saturday 21st October – I ran Parkrun with my daughter as I wanted to take it carefully before the Stroud half marathon tomorrow. My daughter was pleased that her best friend was running too.
Project 365 is a bloghop. Hop over to see what others have been up to this week.

Hope yuo didn’t all get blown away this morning and that your son had a lovely birthday. Can’t believe it was a year ago yesterday that we went to Bristol for the weekend, I wish we lived closer as we all loved it there. Well done to your husband on his car fix, bad of the garage though #365

The wind was pretty strong, but we survived! And who knew tape could be so useful in fixing a car? It’s been on a week now and it’s still working!
October 21, 2017
Well done to your hubby for the quick fix on the car and your son for the hat trick.
That does look like a photo of her intestines…lol I had to look twice!
That slime looks awesome! We are making some during half term.
Good luck with the half marathon tomorrow x

The car is still taped up! Thought it was being fixed properly this weekend. I had no idea that picture of the ballet shoes would turn out like that!

Oh your poor car. I hadn’t realised the bottom didn’t get fixed back on properly. Hope it’s ok now? I’ve been following the slime account on Instagram and it’s so good! And best of luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and cheering you from here!!

Looking very Stevie Nicks in the wind photo! And that is a heck of a lot of slime. What do they do with it?.. #365
October 22, 2017
They just poke the slime and stretch it! It’s remarkable how much enjoyment they get out of it!
October 22, 2017
I see what your daughter means about the darning and intestines. Good lucky with the half marathon.
October 22, 2017
Thanks very much! The half marathon went really well.
I don’t know if I would have noticed the ‘intestines’, but once my daughter had said it, I couldn’t un-see it!
October 22, 2017
We have a house of slime here too now that my girl has found the perfect recipe! Love that you did a parkrun before a half – and well done on your half today!
October 23, 2017
Thanks very much, I was so pleased with my half! I had to run Parkrun with my daughter, there’s no way I could have run it at my usual pace before a half. Glad your daughter has found the perfect slime recipe. It gives them so much pleasure, doesn’t it?
October 23, 2017
I do love your daughter’s slime obsession. It is awesome. Way to go on the parkrun and you are my inspiration as always xx
October 24, 2017
Thanks very much, that’s such a lovely thing to say! Slime is great – between making slime, school, homework and dance lessons she doesn’t have time to watch TV!
October 23, 2017
we missed the coloured skies you seemed to get down south, and certainly here it was not half as bad as the yellow weather warning they had put in place for this area.
Great at the hat tricks, tries and exams, hope she gets the results she hoped for.
Happy belated birthday to younger son.
October 24, 2017
Thanks very much, it was a good week for the kids! We had weather warnings for strong winds too. It was certainly windy, but nothing scary!
October 24, 2017
Wow, that’s an amazing box of slime! Sounds like a great week, hope you’re surviving half term this week! And, well done on your PB in the half 🙂
October 25, 2017
Thanks very much, I was so pleased about my PB! Half-term is a bit too hectic for my liking, but it’s nice that I don’t have to spend my evenings driving around at least!
October 27, 2017
Oh the coloured sky was a bit freaky!
Happy birthday to your son!!
Now that is a lot of slime….I should make some with the girls..they are sure to love making it.
