Project 365 2017 Week 37

The first full week back at school and we’re slowly starting to get to grips with our new routine.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 253 – Sunday 10th September – I went for another 10 mile run and my son had his first league football match of the season. Sadly it was a 4-4 draw, which they deserved to win. And there was a very nice sunrise!

Day 254 – Monday 11th September – week two of the school year and both my daughter and younger son had sport after school. Finishing at the same time in different towns. A friend dropped my son at home and I got stuck in traffic on my way to pick my daughter up.

Day 255 – Tuesday 12th September – I have got more work on now, which is good news. I’m still struggling a bit with juggling the new school and all the kids’ activities, plus my work, but we’ll get there. The autumn flowers are starting to come out in the garden.

Day 256 – Wednesday 13th September – it was supposed to be a busy work day today, but one of my jobs got delayed. So I got some unexpected, welcome and much-needed blogging time, including taking photos around the house for a feature on my house coming up on Inside, Outside and Beyond blog soon!

Day 256 – Thursday 14th September – a busy day of work. This time last year we were in the middle of a heatwave, now it’s too damp for the guinea pigs to even go on the grass, so they had a run in the kitchen instead.

Day 257 – Friday 15th September – I had another busy day of work. Long may it continue! I sneaked this photo of the beautiful garden over the road. I say ‘sneaked’ because the woman doesn’t like me. Or anyone else really.

Day 258 – Saturday 16th September – I used Parkrun as a quarter of my 12 mile half marathon training run today. So that’s 1200 calories needed replenishing, with the help of this donut, crisps and toast. My son played his first rugby match of the season and scored the first try.

  1. My friend and her son ran our local Parkrun for the first time this morning and I told her about your exploits afterwards. Love all the flowers, we have a neighbour like that too. I can’t imagine having to juggle three kids and all their activities, you deserve a medal or a big bottle of wine! #365

    • Thanks very much! It can get difficult with the juggling sometimes, especially at the start of term when we’re still trying to work it all out! Hope your friend and her son enjoyed their Parkrun.

  2. Well done on the running. It sounds like it’s going really well. And the routine will definitely come. This time of year just feels a bit mental doesn’t it?

    • It definitely does! Although I think I’m already starting to get the hang of the new routine, thank goodness!

Yay! For having more work on…That’s great. I hope you manage to get your routine sorted.
Your bathroom is gorgeous and so is the garden x

    • Thanks very much! Our bathroom is lovely and the bath always looks clean because we don’t actually use it!
I love my car, but the clutch has just gone, so it’s in the bad books at the moment! x

  4. Oo I love your bathroom! I am on a decorating overload at the moment. How often do you need to regrout it? Love the flower photos, shame the person who planted them isn’t so nice. #365

    • Thanks very much! The bathroom is very nice. We had it done over three and a half years ago and we haven’t had to regrout yet. It doesn’t look like it will need doing any time soon.
It’s a real shame about the lady with the flowers. She must be quite lonely.

  5. That is a lovely garden – pity about its owner. Sounds like things are quite busy with taking the kids places even with the school arrangements being simplified.

    • It is a shame about the lady with the garden. The logistics with the kids are still difficult even with only two schools. I’m hoping things will settle down soon.

  6. I am not sure what is happening with me commenting , as this is now my third attempt!
Great news that you have more work – fingers crossed I get some more paid blog stuff soon .
I love the sunrise photo – it was not a nice day here last Sunday, so I doubt the sky looked like that here early last week!
It always amazes me how such colourful flowers are still around now that autumn is here.
I do like your bathroom – so clean and minimal . `I was admiring it when I saw it on IG last week x

    • Thanks! Our bathroom does look very nice – in complete contrast to my ensuite, which couldn’t look any worse!
Good luck to you with getting more paid blog work.

  8. I do love reading about your parkruns and how it’s a family affair. I love all the flowers. It is difficult to juggle three kids and all their activities, you deserve a medal! #365

  9. Love the garden across the road, lots of beautiful flowers and colours. Oh dear at 2 kids at 2 ends of town at the same time.
Good grief at such a neat tidy uncluttered bathroom with 3 kids in the house, my small pokey bathroom ( not even big enough to fit a bath in) is cluttered and there is only 2 of us.
Love how you are setting up your children for a healthy fit and active lifestyle.

  10. Sounds like a good, although busy week! I LOVE your bathroom 🙂 I’ve decided that September is the craziest month of the year, trying to get a handle on all the kids activities etc along with all the ‘back to school’ extras that seem to happen… We had an evening event of some sort every day last week *yawn*!

  11. We have a neighbour a bit like that! So sad really.

It’s been a week of settling in for us too! Love that bathroom! Think I could stay in there all day.

My eldest has been asking for a guinea pig too…but worried the cat will get it!
