It’s that time of year again… The time when we all start thinking about what we’re going to wear to Britmums Live. No doubt some people have been thinking about it for weeks or even months.
Personally, I fancied lots of new clothes. But then I had a word with myself. New clothes are expensive and I didn’t actually need them. I’ve got perfectly good clothes already. And I would only go and buy exactly what I’ve already got, only in different colours.
So what am I wearing for Britmums Live?
First up, is the quirky Tshirt. This is a tradition I stumbled on at my first Britmums Live in 2013, when I bought myself a vest top with a crocodile on it. A quirky Tshirt is now an essential part of my Britmums Live wardrobe and I’ve discovered Truffle Shuffle is the absolute best place for these. This year I’ve gone for some lyrics from a children’s TV show.
Who remembers singing along – Have you ever, ever felt like this? Have strange things happened, are you going round the twist?
I was about 16 when Round the Twist was on TV, far too old to be watching kids’ TV really, but I loved it. The seagull episode was one of the best things on telly ever!
With my Tshirt sorted, the rest of my BML wardrobe will consist of what more pretentious types might refer to as ‘key pieces’. Being thoroughly unpretentious, my ‘key pieces’ are jeans, hoodies, a check shirt, a pair of Converse and a pair of Crocs flip-flops.
The jeans, shirt and hoodie, not to mention my day 2 Tshirt are all Superdry (what else?). If it’s very warm, I’ll just be wearing a Tshirt, if it’s normal temperature, I’ll be wearing my shirt on top of my Tshirt and if it’s cold, I’ll be wearing a hoodie! Likewise, if it’s warm, I’ll be in flip-flops, but if it’s chilly or rainy, I’ll be in my green Converse.
So that’s what I’ll be wearing at Britmums Live! I should be easy to spot as I am essentially a middle aged woman who dresses like a teenage boy (and has the skin to match).
I look forward to checking out other people’s ‘key pieces’ on the day!

Thank you for sharing what you are wearing, I love that top and remember the show. Now I’m singing it! You have made me relax about what I need to wear x

I’m pleased to hear it! There will be people dressed up, but there will also be plenty of people dressed casually and you should wear what feels right for you. x

Love it and I love that tee!! Hopefully bump into you to say hey this year. 🙂
June 10, 2015
Thanks very much! Will look out for you 🙂

Just confirming we aren’t going to clash at all.
June 10, 2015
Ha ha, I think we should be OK! (My beard isn’t as impressive as yours!)
June 10, 2015
Gosh, I haven’t even thought about what to wear – km fact I’ve only just really thought about going! I like your style, And why should teenage boys have the monopoly on comfort and ease?
I’ll look out for you, he’d you there
June 10, 2015
I love that you haven’t thought about what you’re going to wear! Too right, teenage boys shouldn’t have all the comfort! See you there 🙂
June 10, 2015
I have to say, after meeting you there a couple of years in a row……….you’ve nailed it! The first year I went, I wasn’t at all comfortable. Now I dress to suit me, and I’m happier for it. I love the way you dress, of course, I would also love your figure to go with it! haha xx
June 10, 2015
Thanks, that’s a lovely thing to say. Dressing to suit yourself is definitely the way forward! 🙂 x
June 10, 2015
Such a cool top. I would go looking for it but it wouldn’t fit me 🙂
June 10, 2015
Thanks! You could get it in a few months when you’ve shrunk into it!
June 10, 2015
Arrgh! I can’t work out what I’m going to wear tomorrow, let along to BritMums Live! I will now overcompensate and buy something horribly expensive especially for the occasion which will look completely ridiculous on me and will never be worn again …
June 13, 2015
At the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter what you wear! The main thing is to wear something comfortable and that you feel happy in.
June 11, 2015
I wouldn’t expect you to be wearing anything other that Superdry! I love that you chose your gorgeous wall as a back drop. Have a brilliant time. x
June 13, 2015
One year I might surprise you all and rock up in a Boden dress with full make-up and my hair done properly! (Actually, I think hell would probably freeze over before that happened.) Thanks, it won’t be quite the same without you! x

I think it is great that you have a BML tradition and that t-shirt is amazing, I don’t remember the show but it is a great quote and would sum me up most days. I hope you enjoy, I shall be sulking somewhere that weekend.

Yes, the quote is quite appropriate to life as a mum, isn’t it? Bless you, I’ll miss you! It won’t be quite the same without you.

ah yes, you got me singing, I remember my older kids watching it, didn’t they live in a haunted lighthouse? I love your green converse 🙂 Have a great time at Britmums, I wish I was going, I say every year that I’ll go next year, so I’m not going to say it this year.
