I’m going to Britmums Live 2015!

I love Britmums Live. I love it so much that I booked my tickets for this year pretty much immediately after last year’s event. Then I found out that a few of my old blogging friends, the ones I’ve hung out with over the last couple of years, aren’t actually going this year. And I had a bit of a wobble.

Every year, Britmums Live clashes with the annual dance show my daughter and I take part in. The clash makes me highly stressed and means I enjoy both events a little bit less than I should – particularly when the trains go pear-shaped. This year is even worse. My younger son will come home from his five day school residential and I won’t be there! I know it doesn’t matter in the scheme of things, but I will hate that. Then the day after I get back from Britmums Live, the day I’m at the theatre all day sweating dancing, my eldest’s French exchange boy comes over.

Yes, it’s all really bad timing.

I could have made matters a whole lot easier for myself. I could have sold my BML ticket. But, do you know what? I love Britmums Live. It’s the one time of the year I get away on my own and do my own thing, so I’m damn well going!

So, enough waffling… This is me and my blog.

Selfie, Blogger, Acne

This is me. Skinny woman, big glasses, flipping awful skin. I thought about using an old photo, but I like to be honest on my blog. This is sadly what I will look like.

Name: Sarah

Blog: This one – https://mumofthreeworld.com

Twitter: @sarahMo3W

Height: 5 foot 6 (I’m not sure what that is in the ‘new money’)

Hair: Brown, long and a bit scruffy (may also be sporting large grey patches due to potential conflict between my hair dye and my horrendous acne)

Eyes: Blue, with big glasses

Is this your first blogging conference? No, it will be my third Britmums Live and I’ve also been to three Tots100 conferences.

Are you attending both days? Yes, but I’ll be leaving a bit early on the Saturday, due to aforementioned stress and train situations.

What are you most looking forward to at Britmums Lives? Just being there and chatting to people – catching up with bloggers I’ve met before and saying hi to bloggers I talk to online, but have never met in real life.

What are you wearing? I haven’t worked out the specifics, but it will involve jeans and an awful lot of Superdry.

What do you hope to gain from Britmums Live 2015? Some new ideas would be great – I’m always up for taking those on board, but I’ll be just as happy to go home knowing I’ve caught up with friends and had a good time.

Do you have any tips to pass on to bloggers who may not have been before? Chat to people! Don’t be afraid! It is a bit scary and you may find yourself on your own from time to time (or is that just me?!), but there’s always someone friendly to talk to.

  3. It will seem weird not being there this year, I am sure you will have a great time and will probably get there more successfully this year without me helping you to get lost.

  9. I’m going so hopefully we’ll see each other there! It’s my first BritMums live as it took place the weekend before I moved from the US back to UK last summer. Actually it’s my first blogging conference so have no idea what to expect.

  10. Glad you’ll be there, hopefully will get to meet.

Sods law that everything happens at the same time. We also would have had 2 other events to sort out had I been there, and it clashes with my in-law’s holiday as well, so if there’s a nightmare on the farm, the OH will have no backup help for N. Hopefully yours all goes smoothly.

  11. This is my favourite ‘I’m going to Britmums Live’ post so far – mainly because it’s so ‘you’ – as in this is me, take it or leave it. Love that sentiment! You’ll have an awesome time I’m sure. So sad not to be there though 🙁 x

  12. Oh gosh, crazy weekend booked for you then! I thought my June was crazy but it’s nothing like that. Here’s hoping BML is an oasis of calm for you 🙂 It’ll be a shame not to see your usual friends, but it might give you chance to meet more people than usual. My favourite year so far has to be the year I went alone as I just met so many people!!
