Project 365: Week 36

This is the week when the kids went back to school and we said goodbye to the car we’ve had for over five years.

So here’s our week in pictures…

Day 243 – Sunday 31st August – we went to Cotswold Water Park for the day to celebrate my mum’s birthday. There’s a (fake) beach, but my younger son spent most of the day wanting to go on this swing. Notice my daughter is still wearing her Coombe Mill cap!

Day 244 – Monday 1st September – we were supposed to say goodbye to this old friend, after five and a half year’s loyal service, but it didn’t quite happen.

Day 245 – a day later than expected, we got our new car! It’s time to accept our kids aren’t getting any smaller and they need more space!

Day 246 – Wednesday 3rd September – all three of the kids went back to school.

Day 247 – Thursday 4th September – I did lots of work and my son put the guinea pigs on the outside table! Not the most sensible thing to do, but it made quite a good picture.

Day 248 – Friday 5th September – went for a lovely evening with some of my old colleagues. They all had takeaway, but I had an empty plate! I can’t risk eating Chinese so close to my half marathon on Sunday.

Day 249 – Saturday 6th September – back to football, with the first league game of the under 11s season. Here’s my son’s team warming up.

    • Thanks very much. We’re really loving the new car. I never even thought we needed one, but it’s brilliant! It’s surprising how easy it is to resist the food – I’ve done it before.

  6. Love that shot of the guinea pigs – such gorgeous colours against the black. You’re now a two car family again, that must feel so liberating! All our sports started again yesterday, a real bitter-sweet moment but The Boy won his football match so that was all good 🙂

    • Well done to the boy for his football! Sadly we’re not a two car family, still only a one car family 🙁 I think that guinea pig pic was my favourite – and it was just a quick phone shot.

  7. It is lovely having a new car isn’t it? We had one in the summer holiday and it is lovely. Those guinea pigs are seriously cute. I love the shoe shot, I love the fact that shoes are so shiny and new at this time of year although they don’t stay that way for long

  9. Good luck with the half marathon – does the new car mean you have got rid of your beetle too?

    • Thanks very much! We’ve still got the Beetle sat on the drive – I’m determined to get it up and running again one day!
