Ah, the great British summer – rain, wind, cold…
Well, that’s what we usually get, but we’ve been a lot luckier this year. But it still pays to be prepared, after all we haven’t been on holiday yet, and there’s nothing like our annual trek to Padstow to make the weather take a turn for the worse!
So we were very pleased when House of Fraser asked us if we’d like to choose a raincoat and wellies from their children’s range and show off our rain style! There was lots to pick from, even for a big girl like my daughter. I decided to quietly choose myself and surprise her when the items arrived.
First up was a no-brainer. I wear Hunter wellies myself and, although expensive, I think they’re brilliant – they’re hard-wearing and long-lasting – and are absolutely essential to me surviving the cold, muddy months on the touchline watching my sons play rugby. So it had to be Hunter for my daughter too! I chose pink for her, to match Mummy, although hers are two-tone. I’m pleased to say she is very happy with them. And I’m sure she’ll be even more grateful when the British summer is well and truly over and she’s watching her brothers play rugby.
I wasn’t sure what sort of coat I would choose, but as soon as I saw this one from Yumi Girl I knew it was the one! It’s so much prettier than your average kagoule, with a floral and butterfly design which is both stylish and quirky. And the good news is, my daughter loves it! It’s perfect for the beach or a day out as it will fold up really small for when the sun is shining, ready for when the weather turns. I ordered it in 9-10 so that my daughter would get a bit of extra wear out of it, and I’m glad I did, because the size comes up quite small.
We waited and waited for some rain to take some photos and it IS actually raining here, but so lightly you could hardly feel it!
So here’s my beautiful girl, rocking her rain style from House of Fraser.
