When my sister got my daughter this delicate robin jumper from Sainsburys for Christmas, I knew it would be perfect to wear for her baby cousin’s 1st birthday. I just wasn’t sure what she would wear it with. Jeans would be the obvious answer, but my daughter doesn’t do jeans (or trousers). I’ve given up even buying them for her.
The jumper is really beautiful with an embroidered robin design and a lace collar. It’s both girly and sophisticated and way less tacky than a proper Christmas jumper. And, unlike Christmas jumpers, it can be worn into February without looking out of place.
My daughter knew exactly what she would wear it with – the navy cloud dress I bought for her in the Next sale last year. Like many of my daughter’s outfits, I would never have thought to put them together, but they worked brilliantly.
She finished the outfit off with the ever-versatile grey school tights from M&S and her brand new boots, which my mum got her for Christmas, from Jones.
My daughter has never had a proper pair of boots before. I know even toddlers wear them these days, but it seems strange to see my little girl looking so grown up. They will be great for the cold and wet weather though, as we’ve been relying way too much on wellies lately. Not what a stylish little lady really wants to be wearing!
It was a lovely thing to wear to help her baby cousin celebrate her 1st birthday just after Christmas.
But her cousin would adore her even if she was wearing a bin bag.

Thanks very much, WLTBAYM, mixing prints is the best! But not everyone can get away with it, it takes a very special girl I reckon! We love the jumper!
