What she wore: John Lewis skirt and top

I never buy clothes in John Lewis, it wouldn’t even cross my mind to look there. But my mum bought my daughter this denim skirt and bike design Tshirt there for Christmas and she’s had a lot of wear out of them.

They looked great with tights and her navy Marks & Spencer cardigan in spring and she’s just starting to wear them again as we move into autumn. Although I’m pleased to say she doesn’t need the tights just yet!

She could wear them separately, of course. But she’s only ever worn them together. They’re pretty smart, but still comfortable and good for playing in. The skirt is dark coloured denim and still immaculate, it hasn’t faded at all.

The long-sleeved cream Tshirt has a bike design, which is cute and subtly girly – rather than sickeningly girly like so many clothes aimed at girls of this age. She likes it because she likes riding her bike! It’s had a few close calls with babyccino down the front, but the Vanish has just about sorted it out.

I think we will be seeing a lot more of this outfit over the next few works as the weather turns colder.
