Photo on wood from Hello Canvas

Converting favourite photos to canvas has been a big thing for a few years now, but did you know you can also get stunning photos on wood too?

Hello Canvas, the largest website in the UK for canvas prints, produces beautiful photos on wood, as well as photos on metal. I was very pleased when they asked if I would like to try one of their photos on wood.

First, I had to decide which photo to use, which is easier said than done when you’ve got three kids, because you can’t favour one or two of them over the others – the photo has to include all of them! In the end, I went for a photo of all five of us at my 100th Parkrun. It’s not the most beautiful and perfect photo, it is a happy and relaxed picture of something that means a lot to me and I like that far better than something posed and formal.

(As I don’t publish recognisable photos of my kids on the blog, I haven’t included a photo of our actual picture, but take my word for it when I say it’s very nice!)

The photos come in four different sizes in both square and rectangular shapes. We chose a very nice 60cm by 90cm picture, which was too big for the wall I’d originally planned it for (whoops!), but luckily we had another wall where it fit perfectly.

I was amazed by the quality of it, considering the original was only an iPhone photo, and I’d had to crop it too. The image and colours are very clear, while also maintaining the natural, slightly washed look of the wood and the wood grain.

The photos on wood are made of sustainable whitewashed pinewood and you can have your wooden slats either horizontally or vertically – we went for horizontally as my picture was in landscape format.

You’ll be pleased to read that the wood never contains any knots at all. So there will never be a knot in someone’s eyes! The pictures come with a free hanging kit. You can even hang it outside if you protect it from the rain!

We are very pleased with our photo on wood from Hello Canvas and would definitely recommend one to anyone looking for a different way to display their photos.

We received a photo on wood from Hello Canvas for the purposes of this review. All opinions are our own.

    • Thanks! We only have one canvas in our house, although I know most people have loads of them! Wood works really though, I can definitely recommend them.
