Project 365 2017 Week 51

Christmas has definitely landed at our house, although I’ve still been working.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 351 – Sunday 17th December – my eldest went on the train to Liverpool with my dad to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year. It’s my dad’s absolute favourite TV programme and the trip was our birthday present to him. My husband drove them home.

We put our tree up yesterday. My husband was away, so my eldest took on the alpha male job of doing the lights. Are the lights an alpha male job in everyone’s house? This is our one new decoration this year – from my favourite place in the world. Christmas tree, Christmas decoration, 365, Padstow Day 352 – Monday 18th December – the first day of the school holidays. My husband and son got back from their travels late last night. My heart almost melted when I saw this Christmas card our 5 year old nephew had made for his big cousins. Christmas card, 365, Nephew Day 353 – Tuesday 19th December – there was a beautiful sunset this morning. My daughter had two panto performances and I went to see the first one. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching her, she really is brilliant! sunrise, 365 Day 354 – Wednesday 20th December – a day of rushing around and trying to fit a lot of jobs in. Remarkably, I think I managed to do them all. The house is starting to look Christmassy. Christmas cards, Christmas, 365 Day 355 – Thursday 21st December – had a really good time at my first Christmas party as a freelancer – and my first I haven’t had to pay for since the 90s! Chocolate cake, Christmas party, 365 Day 356 – Friday 22nd December – I had a lovely impromptu meet-up with three blogging friends. Tracey from The Williams World was driving home from Bath and stopped off at Gloucester Services, so Nikki from Stressy Mummy, Emma from Crazy with Twins (plus kids!) and I went to meet her. It was lovely to see them all. Friends, Bloggers, 365

Day 357 – Saturday 23rd December – earlier this year I set myself the target of achieving 100 Parkruns by Christmas. I achieved it today! As you can see, our Parkrun really celebrate reaching the 100 Parkrun milestone.

  2. Well done on the Park Run achievement! I wouldn’t mind going to see SPOTY myself, it’s a must watch here. Lovely to have a meet up, and the Christmas meal looks lovely. The only thing my OH has to do with Christmas is getting the tree and decorations down for me! Happy Christmas Sarah x

  6. congrats on the 100th Parkrun, how many miles have you run this year? did you have a target? did you hit it? the house looked lovely for christmas, no traditions here with men doing the lights or bugger all else, if I don’t do it, it doesn’t get done, but I really quite like it this way

    • Thanks very much! I’ve run over 700 miles this year and my only target was to beat last year, which I’ve done! It could have been a fair bit further if I hadn’t been injured as I’ve run very little over the last couple of months.
My husband tends to take charge with a lot of things as I’m generally inept, so I always just help out.
