Project 365 2017 Week 27

I had high hopes for my photos this week, but things didn’t turn out quite as well as I’d hoped.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 183 – Sunday 2nd July – my daughter hurt her finger at school on Friday (excuse the Coco Pops and milk  – keeping it real!). I decided not to take her to A&E because of the four hour wait, but couldn’t take her to the minor injuries unit because the X-ray isn’t open at the weekend. And I had another two hour round-trip to pick my son up from an Explorers camp.

Day 184 – Monday 3rd July – I took my daughter to the minor injuries unit, where it was confirmed her finger is broken. I was also a good wife and took my husband’s car to get a new tyre. The car is going to be travelling a really long way this week for the the Three Peaks.

Day 185 – Tuesday 4th July – Tuesdays are always busy, but in addition to the usual ballet, Explorers and athletics club, we had my younger son’s best friend round and a trip to his school for the sports celebration evening. And I took a random photo of a cactus at sunset.

Day 186 – Wednesday 5th July – my husband and I went to London for our wedding anniversary (a few days early). I’d hoped to take some good photos, but we didn’t go anywhere particularly photogenic. We did go to see Wicked though and it was brilliant.

Day 187 – Thursday 6th July – my daughter had her one and only induction day at her new school and she loved it! She met up with the girls she’d made friends with a couple of weeks ago. And I hadn’t expected to see temperatures this high this week.

Day 188 – Friday 7th July – my husband and son set off for Scotland first thing in the morning, ready to conquer the Three Peaks tomorrow. My daughter’s best friend came round and they had fun recreating this photo from when they were in Reception.

Day 189 – Saturday 8th July – as I write, my husband and son have climbed Ben Nevis and are on route to Scafell Pike. The aim is to come down from Snowdon at 6am tomorrow. I’d hoped to share a photo, but they haven’t sent me one! Instead, here’s a photo of my daughter at Parkrun. She persuaded me to run with her today – it was the first time for absolutely ages I’d run with her.

Project 365 is a bloghop. Hop over to see what others have been up to this week.

    • The finger is a lot better now, although still not 100%. Wicked was amazing! I’ve been suggesting it for years and my husband finally agreed this year. He wasn’t disappointed!
As I write this, my husband and son are doing amazingly! I will relax when they’re home in one piece. x

  4. Oh I have wanted to see Wicked for ages. Was it good? Sometimes not taking any photos means you were just too busy having a great time! #365

    • Wicked is really good! Sadly I just take any photos because we stayed in the same small part of London all day and it wasn’t a photogenic part!

  5. A busy week, but it mostly sounds like fun. Hope the finger is on the mend now. I don’t blame you for not wanting to do 4 hours at A&E.

  6. What a week Sarah, and I love that you head to see a show each year on your anniversary. Hope your daughters finger is getting better, and best of luck to the your eldest and husband. I am guessing they have finished it by now ? Glad your daughter had a good day at her induction day x

    • Yep, they’re all finished with the Three Peaks. They did brilliantly! Our anniversary is about the only time in the year we manage to get out on our own these days, so it’s pretty sacred! x

    • They are still the very best of friends! Sadly they’re going to different secondary schools, but hopefully they will stay best friends. The shows in London are a tradition for us. It’s about the only time the two of us get out together!

  8. Ouch hope R’s finger is better now. Well done to the menfolk on their 3 peaks challenge. Love the photo the girls recreated over on facebook. It’s great that you celebrate your anniversary, each year. I’ve forgotten ours two years and when asked how long we’d been married last month we both drew a blank.

    • The finger is a lot better now, thanks very much. It’s easy for us to remember how long we’ve been married because we got married in 2000! 🙂
