Project 365 2017 Week 24

It’s been a busy week with GSCEs and the first birthday in June.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 162 – Sunday 11th June – it’s my husband’s birthday tomorrow and, as Mondays are usually busy days, we went out for a meal today. My daughter, who has a notoriously tiny appetite, insisted on this pudding – a donut ice cream sandwich. She managed a third of the donut and none of the ice cream!

Day 163 – Monday 12th June – happy 44th birthday to my husband! We both took the day off work, but then he had so much work on that actually spent the day working at home. I felt pretty sorry for him, but I enjoyed my break anyway! The cake is from M&S and most definitely not my own work.

Day 164 – Tuesday 13th June – reading is my absolute favourite thing to do (well, about equal to running), but my last book took me three weeks to read (about twice as long as usual), due to half-term and the GCSE logistics. I decided I was going to take every opportunity I could to read today, while I was waiting around for the kids.

Day 165 – Wednesday 14th June – I’ve been meaning to start doing a weekly six mile run, to help ease me into half marathon training, but due to work, half-term and the GCSEs, it just hasn’t happened. Today, the planets all aligned and I went for it – despite the ridiculous heat!

Day 166 – Thursday 15th June – I woke up stressed and wasn’t sure why. Juggling the GCSEs on top of everything else is starting to get on top of me. Having felt stressed all day, I managed to put unleaded into my diesel car. A very expensive mistake I won’t be making again!

Day 167 – Friday 16th June – my son took his final GCSE exam, physics. It’s been a tough few weeks, but I’m very proud of him and how hard he’s worked and how well he’s coped.

Day 168 – Saturday 17th June – a very hot morning for Parkrun. Only my husband, my daughter and I ran. My daughter ran and walked most of the way with my dad, but sprinted off on her own at the end.

  1. Happy belated birthday to hubby, love the cake.
Hope your son gets the results he deserves after all the hard work he has put in.
Far to hot to be running, far to hot to be doing anything today.

    • Thanks very much! It was rather hot to be running, but just about manageable at 9am. I wouldn’t have liked to try later on!

  6. I can imagine you all breathed a huge sigh of relief now the exams are all over. I bet it’s all encompassing for a good few months. Oh bugger sorry to hear about the disaster with the petrol, hope it wasn’t too expensive to sort out. Have a good coming week with NO exams x

    • Thanks very much. The exams really do take over. The fuel mistake cost me £200, plus the wasted £39 of fuel. Not my finest moment! x

  7. I’m surprised you’re so slim with the amount of desserts your daughter doesn’t manage to finish but i bet you don’t get a look in with left overs with your boys. Oh dear about the fuel slip up. Peter did that on the way home from the garage with my brand new jeep, he put petrol in my diesel tank, thankfully i managed to stop him after 2 litres and as the tank was almost empty a passing AA man said just to fill it up with diesel and it would be ok with such a small amount, the other way round would have been a disaster as would having filled it up

    • I was too full to tackle her pudding myself! It’s good that you managed to rectify the fuel mistake without causing any problems. I won’t be making that mistake again!
