Project 365 2017 Week 17

The kids went back to school this week and it already feels like a lifetime ago. It also means the photos have got a bit more boring (sorry!).

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 113 – Sunday 23rd April – we all went to a party for my husband’s company last night, so today was a quiet day at home. I rounded the day off by smashing my phone screen. Luckily I’m due an upgrade in a couple of weeks.

Day 114 – Monday 24th April – the kids went back to school today. It’s my daughter’s last term at primary school and hopefully my eldest’s last term at his current secondary school. I was sad to see them go, but very happy to have my lunch in peace reading my book. The book is by the real-life superhero I met at Parkrun the other week.

Day 115 – Tuesday 25th April – I do like working at home, but the downside is becoming some sort of parcel storage service for my neighbours. It was definitely a bit much today! Those big ones are every bit as heavy as they look.

Day 116 – Wednesday 26th April – I met up with my blogging friend and fellow 365-er, Suzanne from Chicken Ruby. It was lovely to see her and I felt very honoured that she squeezed me in before heading back to Dubai.

Day 117 – Thursday 27th April – I decided that I want to get back to doing one 6 mile (10k) run a week, to help me get my strength and fitness back before I start half marathon training in the summer. My watch informs me that it was the fastest 10k run I’d done! I was very happy to have new comfy running socks to wear. They made me realise how uncomfortable and worn out my old ones had got.

Day 118 – Friday 28th April – a day of work and housework. I went to for a Pokemon Go walk with my son in the evening. His Pokemon Go playing has eased off a lot this week since going back to school.

Day 119 – Saturday 29th April – I was pleased to get my entire family out for Parkrun this morning. My younger son got another PB, I came within six seconds of my PB and the others all ran faster than they had run recently.

  1. Well done on getting everyone out on a Saturday morning, I don’t think I could manage that! Our house is definitely a lot quieter now that they are all back to school, I did laugh at the boxes, I will never complain about my neighbours small boxes again!

    • I take in a lot of boxes for my neighbour, but have never had boxes quite so big to deal with! It’s a struggle getting them all out on a Saturday morning, but so worth it when we actually do!

  4. fab family time you have together, it’s great to find something every one enjoys doing. Love the L and R on the socks and those parcels….i think you’re neighbours are taking liberties with deliveries that size, i’d ask my neighbour first rather than assume the delivery guy would knock on other doors and as i’ve said before it was lovely to meet you, see you in the summer

    • Really good to see you! I’ve taken in a lot of parcels for my neighbours over the years, but those were the biggest ones to date!

  5. Crikey, I’d be mortified if my boxes that big turned up at my neighbours. Although having said that, the postman always takes all of our stuff to the farm whether we’re in or not.

    • I think my neighbour was a bit shock that they’d left boxes that big with me!

    • It was great to meet Suzanne. It’s such a relief that I will be able to get a new phone soon because I wouldn’t be able to keep it like that for long!

  8. Ah lovely to see you and Suzanne together. I have been meaning to catch up with both of you, perhaps we could all coordinate and have a coffee when Suzanne is back in the summer? Are you going to review that book when you’ve finished it? I’m looking forward to reading your review!

    • It was great to meet Suzanne. My husband was very smug that he has never smashed a phone screen! This is the third one I’ve smashed, but it’s a long time since I last smashed one.

  9. love the picture of all the trainers. Laughed at your socks being marked L and R. comfy socks and shoes can make a huge difference.
I take in parcels for my neighbour and she never comes for them we have to drop them off a day or 2 later. Hope the neighbour came for these heavy ones.
Glad you got to meet Suzanne

    • Yes! I always end up taking the parcels round to my neighbour too! She was actually pretty mortified at the size of these and came back with me to carry them home.

    • It was great to meet Suzanne. Well done to your boy for getting out for a run! My kids all went straight into the Parkrun without any previous practise, but working up to 5k is probably sensible.

    • Thanks very much! My family did so well at Parkrun and my younger son is on a roll with his PBs! Your phone case sounds like the sort I should be investing in for myself and the kids.
