Project 365 2017 Week 6

It’s been a better week after my daughter was so poorly last week. We’re just happy it’s half-term now.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 36 – Sunday 5th February – I suffer from the worst eczema on my hands in winter, which makes a lot of everyday tasks very painful. I’m hoping these are going to revolutionise my life!

Day 37 – Monday 6th February – we decided my daughter wasn’t quite ready to go back to school. We now she is suffering from inflamed lungs and a chest infection, not ‘just a cough’. We hope she will be back at school tomorrow. There are more signs of life in our garden, which I’m very happy to see.

Day 38 – Tuesday 7th February – my daughter finally went back to school and ballet. She was clearly tired afterwards, but she survived it. After nearly three months, she finally got the results of her grade 3 ballet exam.

Day 39 – Wednesday 8th February – a quiet day working at home for me, I’d almost forgotten how it feels to work without Dance Moms blaring! I had some good news about a potential new client, so I’m keeping everything crossed that it works out. I spotted these snowdrops in my mum’s garden.

Day 40 – Thursday 9th February – I went to watch my daughter’s tap and jazz class. These are probably the styles I am least familiar with, but I really enjoyed it! My daughter hasn’t done a tap exam since her Grade 1 and the teacher says that realistically they are unlikely to do any more as there isn’t the time, but she is probably working at about Grade 3 level now.

Day 41 – Friday 10th February – the last day of school before half-term! I worked very hard on one of my kids’ books – reading 300 pages in a day, which is probably my record. The day was very cold and dreary and it snowed for about five minutes. I didn’t get a photo of the snow, but this is the miserable sky (with no filters).

Day 42 – Saturday 11th February – no Parkrun for me today as I’ve pulled muscles coughing. I tried to run on Thursday and managed 42 seconds before I realised it was too painful! It snowed very lightly, but there was no way it was ever going to settle. This is the view through my daughter’s window – you can just about make out a couple of flakes of snow on the glass.

  7. i was going to say, it must be nice having everyone in the house well and in one piece but then i read about your coughing. I hope the gloves help with the eczema, i get chill blains in my hands, so i’m currently wearing mittens when i’m out and about in the mornings. Love how you’ve caught the water droplets on the snow drops, so pretty.

    • The coughing isn’t too bad! It’s not in the same ballpark as my daughter’s illness, but it has stopped me running. Chilblains don’t sound like much fun, but I don’t suppose they’re often a problem in Dubai!

  11. It wasn’t the best of weeks healthwise, but I guess better than the week before. Hopefully, the children and you have put the bugs behind you. Here’s hoping the gloves work for your hands. Mine have been drier than usual I’ve noticed.

  13. your poor daughter – these things can take ` while to shift. Sorry about the eczema you have – so painful! Burton got some on his hands the week before we went away and I had to take him to the GP for some steroid cream as it was very painful for him. I love seeing snow drops – sign of spring x
