Project 365 2017 Week 5

Last week was a good week with lots going on. This week has been the complete opposite, with my daughter ill for the whole week and my washing machine out of order. My photos reflect just how boring it has all been.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 29 – Sunday 29th January – my daughter has been choreographing a dance for herself and two friends for the school talent show, but it’s tomorrow and her friends didn’t really know it! So we had an impromptu afternoon with two noisy girls round. I hid out up the corner of my bedroom, which is the only place in the room with a wifi signal.

Day 30 – Monday 30th January – my daughter wasn’t feeling well, but was determined to go to school for the talent show auditions (and I’m very pleased to say she got through). This little terror escaped and went under his hutch. He wasn’t stuck, but he wasn’t getting out of his own accord. After struggling with him for half an hour, I had to call a neighbour to help me.

Day 31 – Tuesday 31st January – my daughter came in at 4.30am with a very high temperature, so there was no school for her. She’s had a painful cough for a couple of days too. She seems very much like my younger son was at the start of the month, so she may be ill for a while.

Day 32 – Wednesday 1st February – I hate being stuck inside – it makes me feel quite down, but I had no choice as my daughter was still ill. I made myself useful by putting all my son’s GCSE dates (eek!) on the calendar.

Day 33 – Thursday 2nd February – my daughter felt well enough for a bath – her first since Sunday. She also brushed her hair and teeth for the first time since Monday, but she is nowhere near ready to go back to school. I finished reading The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas with her. This is one of my favourite books and she loved it as much as I did.

Day 34 – Friday 3rd February – when my daughter eventually woke up, she was more ill than ever. I realised I couldn’t do any more for her and she needed to see a doctor. She’s been prescribed steroids and antibiotics.

Day 35 – Saturday 4th February – I was so glad to get out and do Parkrun today as I’ve been stuck in the house all week. I actually haven’t been running at all since last Sunday. My only exercise has been a short daily walk in the dark when my husband gets home from work. Later today, my eldest is going on a 30 mile night hike with Explorers. I don’t know how he does it, he is amazing!

  13. All those exams!! Poor kid! I’m dreading the secondary school years for that. Hope your girl is better soon and is well for the half term break next week. I want to read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas having seen the film a few years ago.
