Project 365 2017 Week 3

It’s been a dreary, damp week, with the photos to match.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 15 – Sunday 15th January – my daughter was lucky enough to be one of the first kids to try out the new Firefly cars with Young Driver. My son scored a hat trick in his team’s 14-0 win and is currently the top scorer in his league.

Day 16 – Monday 16th January – it seems to have done nothing but rain for the last few days, so I brought a bit of spring into the house with some daffodils.

Day 17 – Tuesday 17th January – a quiet day of finishing off work at home, followed by the usual mum taxi duties. And the daffodils came out remarkably quickly!

Day 18 – Wednesday 18th January – my son felt too ill for school again first thing, but somehow managed to drag himself out of bed at 8.15, and we even made it to school on time. In the afternoon, I went to watch my daughter in a general knowledge quiz against other schools – and they won!

Day 19 – Thursday 19th January – we went to look round a grammar school for my son for 6th form. We were all very inspired!

Day 20 – Friday 20th January – the rain finally stopped, the sun came out and the temperature plummeted.

Day 21 – Saturday 21st January – Parkrun was cancelled this morning. I was disappointed, then I decided to just go and run it somewhere else! I had this beautiful view.

  3. Ah, we’ve been doing the sixth form thing too with Daughter 3 but she wants to stay at the school where she’s doing her GCSEs which means no trailing around the area looking at other sixth forms, hurrah. Love the view on your run, gorgeous building

  4. The daffodils did come out quickly, we have seen a few beginning to poke their leaves through here but will be another few weeks before the buds.
Beautiful church picture, the frost here was very pretty too this morning.
Well done on winning the school quiz.

  5. You’ve had a busy week and that car test drive for kids still impresses me. I’ll have to see if they have one in Manchester. I think i need to get some daffodils too and lighten up the dreary days a bit!

    • Daffodils are essential for dreary days! They’re the only flowers I will buy for myself as they’re so cheap – and they’re my favourites!

  7. Was Parkrun cancelled due to ice? Beautiful substitute run though! We had to cancel a go with the FireFly cars before Christmas – they look great fun though.

    • Yes, Parkrun was cancelled due to ice. Ours is run on paths, whereas the alternative one is run entirely on grass – much safer! The Firefly cars were great fun. Do try to reschedule if you can!

I saw some daffodils starting to open up while out on a walk earlier today – a true sign of spring, if a little early! happy for you that the school visit was so inspiring and successful – will make it easier for you and him I am sure. shame the park run was cancelled, but your own run had a beautiful view x

  9. Way to go doing another parkrun when yours was cancelled. The car lessons look like a lot of fun. 6th form is that the final year of high school? Looks really good. Glad you had a good week xx

    • Thanks very much! 6th form is the final two years of school – when they do their A Levels! I was worried about whether he’d have the motivation for them, but I’m pleased to say this school has really inspired him. x

  10. Oh great that you’re looking at grammar schools, I’m glad your son decided to go ahead with his decision. I love the look of that driving school too, we’re going to book Libby in as soon as she turns 5, she will LOVE it.

  11. Phew a busy week Sarah and well done to your daughter with the quiz. Looking at 6th forms already, it certainly comes around so quickly. Hasn’t it been so dreary this week, and I think I might have to brighten the house with daffodils too x

  12. I’ve still not seen any daffodils, other than in the shops! We have number 2 now at sixth form, but he decided very early on that he wanted to go where his sister had just finished, so it was an easy decision, and he’s loving it. #Project365
