Project 365 2017 Week 1

Here we go again! 2017 and it’s my fourth year doing Project 365. When I started out in 2014, I worried how I would manage to take a photo every day, but somehow I always do – even if they are a bit rubbish sometimes.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 1 – Sunday 1st January – I like the idea that the new year should dawn bright, as though something new and magical is ahead. But it dawned wet and horrible. So I took a photo of Wilfred the guinea pig rather than something more meaningful. It came out a bit blurred, but I still like it!

Day 2 – Monday 2nd January – apologies for the horrible picture! I had blepharitis, a nasty eye infection, a couple of years ago. Once you’ve had it, it is likely to flare up again. It came back yesterday and my eye was so swollen and gunky this morning that I couldn’t even open it. My daughter had two panto performances, but she’s injured her hip and actually had to miss one of her dances because it was so bad.

Day 3 – Tuesday 3rd January – my younger son went back to school and I spent the day working. My daughter spent the day on the settee resting her hip. It felt like she was off school sick rather than still on holiday. Another very frosty day!

Day 4 – Wednesday 4th January – the other two kids went back to school and I had my most productive day of work in months. Long may it continue! I nipped out to M&S especially to buy wrapping paper and Christmas cards at 75% off.

Day 5 – Thursday 5th January – my daughter had her penultimate panto performance this morning. I sense she is starting to get upset about it all ending. It was time to take the Christmas tree down. I’m going to miss it!

Day 6 – Friday 6th January – after feeling unwell yesterday evening, my younger son had the day off school ill. His temperature reached 39.5 and paracetamol was having no effect on him.

Day 7 – Saturday 7th January – my daughter’s final day in panto this year and my son appears to have made a remarkable recovery. Looking forward to watching the show, but feeling sad that it’s all over.

    • Thanks very much! Good luck to your daughter. The panto wasn’t like that at all – three weeks of rehearsals, then straight onto performance! x

  3. I sympathise with the eye, I am prone to conjunctivitis, hate the headaches you get with the some eye.
Shame the panto has come to an end but then all good things do.
    Great frosty picture.

  9. Wilfred is definitely a better start to the year than the rain! The panto will leave a big gap won’t it, has the countdown to next year begun yet?! Hope you’re eye is better now. I’ve had a few similar eye infections over the years, and they’re a miserable thing to wake up to. I was sad to see my tree go too, the living room seems so dull without it!

    • Our lounge seems very bare without the tree. Wilfred is definitely a cheerful start to the year!
Yes, the countdown to next year has begun already, but we’re not sure if she’ll be able to do it or not 🙁

  11. Another panto season done. That’s exactly what my eye looked like on Monkey’s birthday. I’ve got a Chalazion on my eyelid which won’t go and it likes to flare up in different ways to keep me on my toes. Hope your eye is better now. Love the frosty shot and great bargains on the paper, I have failed to get paper or cards in the sales this year for the first time ever #365

  14. I can’t believe the panto is over for another year. It seems to have gone quickly this time, and I hope your daughter was not too upset on her last performance. My husband suffers with blepharitis too, and funnily enough his flared up the other day after not suffering for months. Aw I love the picture of Wilfred, what a great start to the year x
