Project 365 2015 Week 12

Spring is definitely in the air and I’m loving the lighter mornings and evenings.

Here’s our week in pictures…

Day 74 – Sunday 15th March – the kitchen fitter has been in over the weekend and is gradually taking the old kitchen out. This is how it’s looking now…

Day 75 – Monday 16th March – this is what our dining room looks like at the moment – those big, open cupboards are for the new kitchen. We’ve got bits of new kitchen all around the house!

Day 76 – Tuesday 17th March – I’m so proud that my daughter’s ballet teacher has said she can audition for the Royal Ballet. I was worried she might not have recovered from her bad foot in time for the audition or for the photos to go with her application, but she did! This is one of her application photos (and, yes, more kitchen units visible in the foreground!).

Day 77 – Wednesday 18th March – there’s a glimmer of pink in my garden! I don’t know what these are, but they seem to be everywhere all of a sudden.

Flowers, Garden, Spring, 365

Day 78 – Thursday 19th March – yes, more daffodils! I think they’re close to reaching their peak now, with most of them out.

Day 79 – Friday 20th March – the eclipse! I know you can’t see it, but that glowing bit in the middle of the picture is the eclipse and I haven’t used a filter on this picture.

Day 80 – Saturday 21st March – my daughter has her ballet and tap show today. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get any pictures, so here’s her shoes – ballet, tap and character!

  1. Well I’m very much looking forward to seeing those kitchen pictures in a month or so – not long now! Loving the spring flowers shots. We don’t seem to have very many daffodils at all this year which probably shows that I wasn’t on the ball last year! x

    • The new kitchen can’t come soon enough! I’m fed up of it getting less and less useable. We planted quite a few bulbs in the autumn, but there was already quite a lot here 🙂 x

  2. Good luck to your daughter – what a truly wonderful opportunity for her. I’m rather envious. Great to see progress with the kitchen, hope you’re not too sick of it all #365

    • Thanks very much! I’m excited that my daughter is getting the opportunity to audition, but don’t expect her to get in. Kitchen progress is so slow that I am getting a bit fed up!

  3. You must be so proud of your girl! How amazing! I was really sad when my girl gave up ballet and tap 🙁 Looking forward to seeing your kitchen – mine is in desperate need of an extension and overhaul, maybe one day!

  4. I think those plants might be Elephant’s Ears. Glad that the foot was better in time for the pictures, it would have been so frustrating if not.

    • Thanks! I’ve never heard of elephant’s ears! They seem to be in loads of people’s gardens at the moment. Was so relieved her foot was well enough in time for the pic.

  5. I feel like I should say bye to your old kitchen as we might not see it again. Bet you can’t wait ;). The eclipse freaked me out a bit as all the birds went eerily quiet.

    • I didn’t notice the birds go quiet, but I really liked the eclipse! I’m so desperate to get the new kitchen now!

  6. Wow, are you installing the new kitchen yourselves?
Ours took up our dining room for a whole week when we did ours. Good look with the Royal Ballet application :0)

    • We’re not! Unfortunately the kitchen fitter isn’t working on ours full-time yet, so he’s just doing bits at weekends. We’ve had the stuff in our dining room since 3rd March!
      Thanks very much 🙂

  7. I had to comment to wish your daughter good luck. Mine is ballet mad and last night was spent watching other people’s children dance for the 3 mins of her solo! (Obviously I thought she was the best!) Best wishes for her audition, and the kitchen…….

    • Thanks very much! Always nice to read about another ballet mad child. I’m sure she was the best 🙂

  8. Exciting about RB audition. Very jealous – I’d have loved to have done that as a child. Hope the show went well too.

Not many of our daffs are out yet, and we usually have rows and rows up the farm drive. They’re only just starting here.

    • Thanks very much! The show was brilliant. We’re looking forward to the audition, although we’re under no illusions about her getting in!
The daffodils will be something to look forward to, we’ve still got a few left to come out.

  10. Oh wow you must be super proud and relieved as well that your daughter can do her ballet audition after all. At some point in the future you’ll be in your fab new kitchen and looking back at photos of the work in progress – meanwhile keep on capturing the lovely spring flowers!

  11. That’s very exciting about the Royal Ballet auditions, well done her, I hope she gets her place. We live next to Richmond Park, it’s kind of a famous local spot round here, the school.

    Good luck with the kitchen!

    • Thanks very much! Competition for places is incredibly fierce, so I don’t expect her to get it. Even getting the opportunity to audition is a real achievement. If she gets in, she will go to Birmingham.

  14. Good Luck for your daughters audition, I hope the show went well.
Our daffs haven’t started to bloom yet, or maybe its because the chickens have got to them first, I shall have to go and investigate!
It won’t be long before you have a wonderful new kitchen, how exciting.

  16. You’re pictures of the kitchen are putting fear in me as we need to redo our kitchen in the future (although it is probably two years away as we need to knock some walls down first). Congratulations to your daughter, that is so exciting what an opportunity. My daughter passed her first ballet exam recently, but I don’t think she has the grace to go far.
