When I write about fashion on this blog, it’s normally my daughter I’m writing about. But it won’t come as any great surprise to discover that the rest of us wear clothes too! Not only that, but we actually like wearing them! And if there’s one thing everyone in our family is partial to – it’s a hoodie. So when I was asked if my husband would like to try out a hoodie from the new 90:10 menswear range, I jumped at the chance.
90:10 is a brand new men’s casual wear range, which includes hoodies (both pullover and zip), polo shirts and Tshirts. 90:10 means ‘90% grown up 10% not’, as a lot of men in their 30s, 40s and even 50s are (although my husband would like to think he’s more ’80:20′!). The range was developed after founder, Dan Glatman, himself a 39 year old, was discussing with his next door neighbour that, despite being an adult with a wife, kids and a job, he didn’t consider himself completely ‘grown up’. From there, the idea of a Tshirt was born. And before long, the idea of a whole range…
My husband received a signature embroidered pullover hoodie in navy, which sells for £42 (with free postage). But you can get a discount on 20% on it (and the full range) using the code BLOG.
It’s not quite as thick as the hoodies we’re used to, so would be better for spring and summer than winter. He likes the logo, which is discreet. I like the unbleached cotton on the drawstring, which has a nautical feel – perfect for a hoodie for spring and summer.
I was very impressed with how quickly it arrived – it was here within two days. Size-wise it is spot-on – my husband is a ‘large’ and the large fit him perfectly. He tells me the hoodie is very comfortable, which is pretty much why we love hoodies so much!
Although designed for the slightly more mature gentleman, my 13 year son pounced on it as it came out of the packaging.
‘Can I have it?’
I expected my husband to say ‘yes’, but he didn’t, because he likes it himself. A hoodie which is appreciated as much by a 41 year old man as a 13 year old boy? That has to be a good thing!
